MTV's VMAs Amp Up Music Sales
What a concept! MTV driving actual music sales!
While the public's reaction to Kanye West's behavior during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech seems to be the most talked about stunt at this years VMAs, the music itself is also receiving some recognition.
All of the performers at the awards show are seeing a HUGE increase in their music sales including Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Jay-Z, Pink and of course Taylor Swift, who's iTunes sales went up 80%!
Popular British band and Twilight soundtrack standard Muse also performed for the first time on American television and the sale of their album skyrocketed as a result of the VMAs.
Everyone really did put in top-notch performances that night even if other events may have overshadowed them!

MUSE was DEFINITELY the best performance - of course I say that as I'm biased and love Muse. It was absolutely super to see them on US television!!!! The new album, The Resistance, is brilliant!!
ugh. muse ruined itself. by being associated with twilight. thats why its more sucessful. wasnt surprised with taylor, the songs been up in the top ten for a very long time. lady gagas shot up though
The best performance was definitely Pink, and she was overshadowed by Lady Gaga theatrics. Taylord's was filled with emotion, but that's because she did her stunt wiht people in the streets.
YEAAA MUUSE! yea, this years vmas was really good.
The reason everyone got so much publicity, and the reason anybody even cared about the VMAs this year is because Seksi Perezi was there and he is mayja fantastico right now!

Um last I checked Muse had a pretty wide fan base in the U.S. BEFORE twilight and the vmas. Plz don't credit stephanie meyer or mtv for their album "skyrocketing". It's been anticipated for ages.

Muse are genius and it's been like almost 10 years now! They are not the "twilight -whatever- soundtrack standard"
They are the Best live and awesome band in the world. And even if I'm not American I am sure that in the US they have a HUGE fan base (and that maybe from Absolution) , because you know some american loves good music and this outstanding band.
Love Muse love the music love the guys and HATE the virus twilight.
