AEG Prez Hopes MJ Movie Will Clear Their Name
At Nokia Plaza yesterday, dozens of people, many of which have been sitting in line for days, waited anxiously to purchase their advance tickets to Michael Jackson's This is It movie. Considering the movie is a month away from now and this kind of enthusiasm is being shown by fans, the folks at AEG, concert promoters and venue owners, hope this is sign that the public no longer looks at them as a s cruel and heartless company exploiting the talents of Michael.
Tim Leiweke, president of AEG, explained that he hoped this project would give fans some peace of mind that as a company, Michael's legacy and well being was always a priority. The fact that people have thought otherwise has really "hurt" some at AEG. Boo hoo!
Says Leiweke:
"Some of the things that people have said about us, which are so untrue, this movie's going to restore his legacy, and prove that we, in fact, gave Michael a second chance here. And an opportunity to make the kind of comeback he was dreaming of. And that we created an environment for him that was probably the best environment that the guy had the last 10 or 15 years of his life. And I'm very proud of the way we treated Michael, and very proud of the partnership that we had with him. And this movie is an opportunity to celebrate that, and we could get past all of the gossip and all of the innuendo."
Well, photographic evidence will help your point, but we just wonder how much was left on the cutting room floor. A lot can be created with a good editor and enough footage.
But we can't believe that some people waited 2 days outside to get tickets to a movie! Let's get real, that is essentially what it comes down too. It's not his concert, just footage of one.
We hope you got your tickets if you wanted to go. Seems like they will be selling out fast!

i know personally many people in AEG this was all weird when they started to get in the news since they were under the radar. They were trying to get MJ back out there help him (dude was in so much financial trouble)… Just as they did with britney spears.. yes it was them that did her tour too! and look how they helped her out, get back out there. Of course they were looking at it as a win win situation im not saying they did it just for them but thats how it is with win win situations. But it is hurtful when you start being accused of many things

You can’t believe people waited two days to buy tickets to see this film that will only be in theatres for two weeks Perez? Well, that is what happens when you underestimate a legend. Believe it! Yes, people do want to see Michael that bad! As for AEG, they seem to forget that Michael’s legacy was already intact 10, 15, 20 years before they ever came into his life and he did not need them to secure that legacy for him. Lest they forget, this film is not about them. This is about Michael!

AEG should man up and stop complaining. They have been getting alot of fire thrown at them but it hasn't been that bad. Heck, Michael took scrutiny for years from people so they can deal with it.

Ummm Perez have you forgotten the purpose of this film? And who it is that this film surrounds? This film will give all that see's it a chance to see what it was that Michael and his crew was working so hard on. Footage recorded from the rehearsals will be shown in this film. So this film is depicting parts of what his concert would have been.

I will wait until AEG adds another 40 shows for the movie like they did to MJ for his comeback tour! My opinion of AEG probably will not change after I see the show. AEG took advantage of someone that was hurting and that is so wrong!!
