NYC Mayor Declares Law and Order Day
Well, everyone's been making up holidays lately!
In honor of the show's 20th anniversary, Mayor Michael Bloomberg has officially made September 23 Law and Order Day.
What that means exactly, we do not know.
Actor Anthony Anderson who plays Detective Kevin Bernard had the suggestion of "free doughnuts for the day across the city."
The cast and crew had a party earlier this week to celebrate the 20th anniversary, with former Law and Order cast members in attendance, including Angie Harmon and Benjamin Bratt.
Anderson adds:
"There were a lot of old cast members there…some I didn't know. But while I was there, I realized why it's been so successful for 20 years,it's because of the love that was there, it was like a family reunion."
Whatever, congrats.
What we want to know is: what holiday should WE create?

i like it! it's not a big deal to make a holiday for something. and it doesn't necessarily have to be the mayor's favorite show (although who knows). law and order is part of the history of new york, because of its representation (being filmed in new york, always) and for its longevity. i think it's cute.

wtf? everytime they come film at my kids school they make the kids exit through different exits, take up all the parking in a 5 block radius for days, and block the frickin sidewalk, it sure feels like a holiday

the shows awsome. not many shows can go that long anymore. and im sure its done enough for the city of NY. besides some of you make it sound like its a real holiday, its just a day.
I don't really give a damn about the Law and Order day, but maybe every once in a while, the show can raffle off Angie Harmon and let us play a few round on her tight body!!

I believe Law & Order is the longest running hour long drama– surpassing Gunsmoke. Out of all of the shows since way back when, this show is the only one to achieve that honor.
