Jessica formerly "Don't Call Me Latina" Alba says she is teaching Spanish to her adorable daughter, Honor Marie.
"I am a mother who shoves information down her throat, poor thing. I sing her songs about colors in Spanish and English when I'm cooking. Literally I integrate learning into everything I do. We're into colors because I feel that's something a 15-month-old can sort of identify. So now she kind of points to blue and says 'azul' and I say 'Yes, azul, muy bien!' It's slow going but she's sort of picking it up."
Teaching kiddies a language when they're so young is the way to go!

Enough with this bullshit already! It's not like she was born in Mexico! She's like 3rd or 4th generation: her father is of Mexican American descent. Both of her paternal grandparents were born in California.

Um,I kind of disagree, there is something called 'forced learning' that actually makes your child not want to learn. My daughter learned all colors, body parts, etc without me shoving them down her throat. I have friends who have forced their kids to read or potty train too early and the plan backfires and the child resists all the more and refuses to learn. Kids learn naturally, let them.
Maybe Jessica could teach Perez some spanish too. If we've learned anything from the Jaclyn Smith news, it's that Perez doesn't know/understand Spanish. It's so IRONIC.

She is being a great mom from what I see. In this Global Market Place you need to know Spanish,English and Chinese. Languages are just sounds that represent symbols and the more sounds the we get taught the better for our brain. Being proud of knowing one language because you are born in the USA is not necessarily a good thing and yes I do know Spanish and English.

Her daughter is mutil-racial so why should she speak Spanish. She's an American and so are both of her parents. Jessica is only half Mexican and if her father chose to emphasize only the American half good for him. Jessica is American and so is her culture. Her husband, Cash is American and so is his culture, so that should be the culture of their children. And stop calling Honor white she is very-light skinned, Shiloh and Suri are white because they have white parents. Honor has biracial parents on both sides.
