umm, that tattoos are stupid body bumper stickers now? In some ancient native cultures, tattoos had important and defining purposes for village members. They were tribal symbols of accomplishments, (killing mastodons, or similar life notable successful quests). Currently, in the 20th century, if a soldier told a warrior story on his arm of his travails in real battle, I get it.
