You do know Madonna's CELEBRATION CD has been discounted on Amazon as well. A couple of weeks ago, it was $19.99 (list price is $24.98), just a few hours ago it was $16.99..NOW it is $15.99. But of course, you're fair and unbiased, so you won't report that.

Life always has its ups and downs. Groups and singers come and go, and right now is a "down" period for Mariah. Perhaps this disc isn't her best work, but she has a bright and long future ahead! No reason to make fun of her because her disc is discounted on Amazon. The $5.99 price point is more about amazon trying to compete with iTunes than the quality of the album. I've gotten many best-selling and awesome new releases there for $3.99.

That said, I listened to Mariah's new one earlier and didn't get thru a single track without skipping to the next one in hopes that it would be better. It's equal parts boring and bad. I love Mariah and was hoping for more, but this one really falls short. Hopefully the remixers will step in and get a few hit dance singles from this dismal album.

It's a download, Perez. what does it really cost to distribute music online? there's a fat margin in there, and it is a smart strategy to make the album available at different price points to reach the most buyers. btw, you forgot to mention that just about every major release (Jay-Z, anyone?) gets the same discount treatment at Amazon. So maybe it says more about Amazon than it does Mariah??? I'm not even going to get into your idol whose failures you forget to report while you slog the internet and find one poor review of Mariah's disc and post it so that you can get that warm feeling that only comes from ridiculing her.
