Sara Paxton of the recently canceled show The Beautiful Life is none to pleased with the CW's decision to give the show the axe after only two episodes.
Paxton opens up about the situation in a new interview and, bless her heart, she thought the show was "amazing!"
Here are some HIGHlights:
On how the cast was told the show was canceled:
It’s unbelievable the way that they told us—we were all in the middle of work…And all of a sudden, they got the call, and the producers had to make an announcement on set that we were done—that we were over! And I was sitting there in shock. I couldn’t believe that in the middle of work, the rug was pulled out beneath our feet…Everyone was just devastated. It was horrible. Terrible.On the lack of marketing for the show:
We were worried because our show didn’t get as much marketing as other shows. Everywhere you go in New York City, you see Melrose Place posters everywhere—I see Vampire Diaries everywhere. And CW, they just didn’t put any money into advertising for our show whatsoever.On executive producer Ashton Kutcher:
I think he’s just as disappointed as all of us. This had his name on it, and it was his first scripted series. I don’t understand how they’ve given so many shows in the past a chance, and not ours. I mean why ours? Why us? It blows my mind.On The CW's decision not to air the remaining episodes:
It’s a slap in the face! It’s almost like we were part of this family and now suddenly we’re dropped. And oh my God, episodes three, four and five were going to be amazing. That’s what really sucks. You’ve got to have time to let a show get its legs and find an audience, especially when they’re putting zero dollars into advertising…And if they had just given it more time to really catch a fan base I think it could’ve been huge for the CW. I really think they missed out, and I really think they’re missing out on a huge opportunity for themselves.
We don't know if we'd go that far, but we do think it was a pretty harsh decision after only TWO episodes.
Don't worry, Sara! You're a cute girl and you'll get another job.

Of course the remaining shows were going to be "awesome"… we will never know for sure now will we. She's taking a pretty big chance in talking shit about the network right away also if she wants to continue to work in this town. I don't think she got that memo…lol…

I watched the first episode and it did totally suck, but they should have given it more than 2 episodes since they're giving the shittastic Melrose place the whole season.

This actually disgusts me. That this girl has the GALL to think that her show of all of the shows on Dawn Ostroff's stupid ass network is the one that doesn't get any promotion. Absolutely unbelievable. The nerve of her.
I can't believe how bad they made Mischa look on the show. They were trying to give her the rundown rock model look but one that totally lost its glam, total fail. Her hair was too heavy and those brows, and she could have bleached her teeth. Anyway more importantly the second episode did improve by a huge amount. Elle Mcpherson was pretty stale though. Better actors really could have pulled it together. The drug dealer that got arrested, to Cole, the stupid London girl. Sarah came off sweet and that's fine but she did nothing for me. And how Sarah and that guy started falling for each other, pretty quick? Too cliche and too soon, but the second episode did improve. Too bad I can't see more, I really wanted too despite the horrible actors/script.

That idiot bitch also didn't put any money into marketing for season 3 of Gossip Girl, which is the only reason the CW still exists. Honestly, no one would even know what the CW was if it wasn't for Gossip Girl. But no, we have to spend our money advertising for the craptastic Melrose Place, which btw is doing HORRIBLY in the ratings. So, if Ostroff made these retarded decisions, of course she would cancel a show after two episodes. The bitch should be fired, or Gossip Girl should move to another network.

Short summary: The show was canceled because hardly anyone was watching it. period.
Of course she has to say that the next episodes were going to be really good, but I actually DO think that the show was good and really getting better.
It's harsh to cancel it after 2 episodes. I mean, I know a lot of people who liked the show. I agree that you didn't really hear that much about it, compared to the other CW shows. I think they really could have done well and that it was a mistake. It would be nice if the show got picked up again.
I must agree with Sara. Dawn has no idea how to run a network. CW is seeing decreases in viewership every year and this year it is even worse, with hit shows like Gossip Girl, Top Model and One Tree Hill seeing decreases, mainly because all of the money is being spent on Melrose Place & 90210 (which aren't doing to hot) hardly any promotion for Supernatural AND Smallville being moved to a Friday death slot. CW got lucky with Vampire Diaries. That's pure luck.
OTH & GG were doing great for CW last year, but the network found a way to screw it up by messing with the timeslots and giving the shows zero promotion.
Basically CW will fold soon, and I see GOSSIP GIRL, ONE TREE HILL, TOP MODEL, SUPERNATURAL, SMALLVILLE, and maybe moving to a new network, with the possibility of Melrose Place moving as well. TBL should have been given the chance, the CW could have made it a very huge hit with Top Model. I mean OTH was pulling in 3 to 4 million viewers back in it's 4th season with Top Model as the lead in.
BTW, for the record, I like the majority of the CW's shows (OTH is #1!!!!) but the CoW that's running the network, sucks. and should be, well, fired.

If anyone should be pissed it was the AMAZING cast and crew of REAPER… now THAT was a real show that got screwed over from day one. They did absolutely NO ads and pretty much canceled the show before it even started!
Well not my type of show but I do feel her genuine disappointment in the interview. They were working and got shut down then and there, how about a little courtesy, break the news at a more appropriate time. Hollywood is a cold, cold place. I think she will be around for awhile though, she has a very cool vibe and very like-able. I like her

The CW are a piece of crap. They spend all their time and money advertising crappy shows like 90210 and Melrose Place when they have much better shows that they are just screwing around. Supernatural is an awesome show and never gets any promotion, yet it's now on its 5th season. I doubt Melrose Place or 90210 will get past a 2nd season.
awww, it is very harsh indeed. I'm mad it was cancelled. I wanted to see where it would go. two episodes is not enough of a decision maker.
This show would have been a much bigger success on FOX.

I usually watch t.v from Hulu.com, but i went there and then it lead me to CW's website where i had to download a player.
God i hate when they do that, but i will go download and watch it for them.

Wow…I would be disappointed too….I am disappointed about the canceling of the show…Misha was great on the OC and she needed this…plus the actors are way better than people like Ashley Simpson and whoever that lame guy is on One Tree Hill who likes to date kids, how has that show lasted so long???
Anyways I watched the first 2 episodes online and couldn't wait to watch them live on TV…sad its canceled! They needed to give people some juice and st least 5 episodes for canning it!
She's right. Although the show wasnt the best thing I've ever seen, it definitely kicked Melrose Place's ass. Now THAT show needs a huge CANCEL on it ! The Beautiful Life wasnt even given a chance. Tsk Tsk CW!

Just you tube Mischa Barton Documentary (model/actress) . Mischa Barton was and is a model/actress. A pretty good one too, but she was never labeled a supermodel. She's amazing! That's why everyone is dying for her return.
