American Hero Goes Back To Work

Earlier this year, US Airways Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger saved the lives of many when he managed to safely land a malfunctioning plane onto NYC's Hudson River.
And after being labeled a hero (rightfully so!) and getting two publishing deals for almost $3,000,000, you'd think he'd retire.
But not this guy! Sully is heading back to work!
Though this time he'll return as a management pilot, and in addition to his regular pilot flying duties, he'll join US Airway's flight operations safety management team.
According to Sully:
"The months since January 15 have been very full, and my family and I have had some unforgettable experiences. However, I have missed working with my colleagues at US Airways and I am eager to get back in the cockpit with my fellow pilots in the months ahead. In my new role, I will continue to be the same kind of advocate for aviation safety that I have been for several decades."
And the fact that he's returning to US Airways means he probably got a pretty hefty raise.
US Airways Chairman and CEO Doug Parker added:
"We welcome Capt. Sullenberger back to work and are proud to have him flying with us again as a member of the US Airways safety management organization. US Airways is an industry leader when it comes to safety and Sully is an excellent addition to the team."
Yea, Sully definitely got a raise!
Congrats, though, you deserve it!

I'd like this guy to fly every flight I'm taking for the rest of my life. No doubt that man should enjoy his work! =)
Welcome back, Captain "Sully."
You are a national treasure.
If I walked on a plane and saw him in the cockpit, I would smile. I would feel safe. He is a great pilot.
Good guy. Level-headed & intelligent throughout all the praise and publicity.
Unless he is a non-union worker…he didn't get a raise as a pilot..he probably got a plaque LOL
