Dan Rather Dismissed!
After filing a $70 million lawsuit against CBS last month, the state appeals court dismissed former CBS anchor Dan Rather's suit today.
Rather filed the suit for fraud, claiming CBS made him the scapegoat for an incorrect story on former President Bush back in 2004 and his Texas Air National Guard service. He believed this "damaged future job prospects."
And the panel's response to that claim?
"As to lost opportunities in the trade, while Rather has shown his own track record of earnings and the earnings of other trade professionals, his future earnings are speculative…[he] never identified a single opportunity with specified terms that was actually available to him and which he declined to accept because of CBS' actions."
And that's that!
