Kirstie Alley has an opinion about Roman Polanski and a message to Hollywood: Don't celebrate a rapist!
Kirstie feels strongly that Hollywood should stop standing behind Polanski simply because he is an artist.
True to form, Kirstie took to her Twitter to rant and rave about the situation. Here is what she wrote:

The simple fact that there is a petition going around Hollywood attempting to set this man free is sickening. One of the names on the list is Woody Allen, how appropriate considering he slept with his own daughter. Why is it that the victims mother allowed her 13 year old daughter to be alone with Roman Polanski? Why is she not being held accountable for this parental neglect. Basically she enabled this situation. Roman Polanski was supposed to be photographying her for Vogue and ended up having sexual relations with her. It is almost as if her mother prostituted her own daughter.

I may be wrong but I got the impression from an interview I saw on TV of the victim as an adult and she seemed to be indicating that it was consensual sex with a minor. I know that when I was 13 I knew of 13 year old girls that were sexually active with much older men. They looked much older and a lot of the men did not have a clue they were so young. They went to bars and very much carried on an adult lifestyle.
I think this is a very complicated situation. The victime does not want this to be pursued and I think that no good can come from demonizing Roman Polanski. The money would be better spent on victims in the here and now.

At this point I'm thinking it might be better if Polanski face justice so that people see all the facts clear, because it's unfair to use "pedophile" when he thought the victim was 16. That doesn't mean rape is cool or shouldn't be punished, but he paid tons of money to the victim, so to my mind that covers a fair portion of the punishment. I don't like the american judicial system, because it's desparately revengeful, and a lot of people died under that system for doing crimes that deserved less than death penalty.
