Mariah's New Album Debuts To Lackluster Sales, Outperformed By Paramore!

Music industry insiders tell us that Mariah Carey's new album, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, is expected to debut next week at #2 on the U.S. album charts - just behind Paramore, who will come in at the #1 spot with their latest offering, Brand New Eyes, which they released on the same day as Mims.
Early sales reports predict that Imperfect Angel will sell in the range of 160,000 - 170,000 copies while Paramore's album is expected to sell 180,000 - 190,000!
As for Madonna and her latest greatest hits album, Celebration, she's projected to sell a between 60,000 - 70,000 copies. And she's barely done any promo!
But back to Mimoo!
In comparison to the release of her last album, E=MC², which debuted with 463,000 copies sold in its first week, Mariah faces an almost 70 percent drop in sales!

Update: Insiders are telling us that it looks like Mariah is neck and neck with Barbra Streisand as both are in the 160,000 range, but projections are putting Mimi in third place at the end of this week.

Heh. Good. Mariah Carey is an airheaded, pretentious, corporate created PHONY, with absolutely no redeeming qualities. She represents virtually everything wrong with the music industry.
Mariah might not debut at #1…I guess that's the end of her career for her. She's released 11 prior albums (and that's not including compilations). Only 6 reached #1, so it's not like she's never had an album that didn't reach the top spot. It's kind of sad that you need to call her sales lackluster b/c it doesn't make #1. Gaga's album has yet to reach that spot.

Whitney Houston also released her album on a Monday, instead of the traditional Tuesday of which most albums are released, which gave her an extra day of tallying her numbers. Even if that wasn't the case for her higher numbers, Whitney has the highest selling soundtrack and that of a female artist with the Bodyguard. Her debut album has sold more than both Mariah's and Madonna's, so she's used to beating them in terms of numbers. As someone else said, though, comparing these artists is silly..people are going to like whomever they like regardless of who outsells who.

Mariah knows how to get a nuber 1 album! And even it if debuts at 2 or 3 that is still in the top 5 which is pretty good! this album is a lot better then E=MC2 and most of the songs are amazing sung, written and produced!

Art and music is not about how much money you make people. You put this woman on a pedestal and she could care LESS about any of you! Her concert ticket prices should be criminal! I paid over 300 dollars to see Confessions Tour which was great but for Sticky and Sweet the same amount of money got me terrible seats….meanwhile Madonna gets her shiatsu massage backstage.

Mariah's new cd is good, I downloaded it free on a blog, but my goodness, the woman is desperate! I don't like purchasing anything of hers anymore becuz she doesnt deserve all the #1's and sales she gets because she discounts everything and kisses all her dumb lambs asses. She is pathetic to me as a person and DESPERATE as they get. My fave song is HATEU. I bought Madonna and Paramore's cd today. I needed to update my Madonna classics so the greatest hits was perfect for me! I loved going back to into the groove right up to hung up and feeling all those good feelings I remember listening to Madonna growing up and even still today.
Back to the looney bin for porky Mooriah b/c this album is a real stinker. Hagdonna's Greatest Hits is a real dud too. How many Greatest Hits is she gonna release? Ugly old skank.

I am a huge Mariah fan.. I think this is her best cd since Butterfly.. YES better than Mimi. Trust me if Obsessed is doing as well as it is.. the album will do GREAT overall.. because I'd say Obsessed is the weakest song on the cd.

mariah's "Emotions" sold 129,000 in the 1st week and went on to sell 4 million and now it has sold over 10,000,000 copies
"music box" sold 174,000 in the 1st week and sold 25,000,000 and now has sold 32,000,000 copies and one of is the best selling albums world wide and her biggest selling album
"merry christmas" ONLY sold a weak ass 45,000 but in the 6th week sold 500,000. 3rd best selling christmas album
anyway to conclude mariah had a huge opening week but is still one of the best selling artist. memories might flop AND it may not. oh well she still has her millions baby!
