Liar, Liar, Toni Braxton!
Filed under: Legal Matters > Toni Braxton
Apparently, Toni Braxton does have a broken heart according to… Toni Braxton. But her insurance company doesn't see the need to reimburse her for that!
Lloyd's of London is actually looking for damages from Toni after she cancelled her Vegas show back in 2006 because of a heart ailment. The problem is not so much that she cancelled, but rather this information of a "pericarditis condition" was never disclosed on the insurance application. She conveniently left that part out! And then she had the audacity to sue the company for not cutting her a piece of the action after she cancelled.
Somehow, we think L & L has a better case in their countersuit. But we wonder - does she really have a broken ticker or did she bow out of the gig simply because she didn't want to sing Unbreak My Heart for the millionth time?
It sure would have been one devious diva move!

a bad weave moment…
next……………
She really does have a heart problem.
She also has an autistic son. I remember her talking about her son on t.v. soon after his diagnosis. She could barely say it without crying she was so heartbroken that he has autism.
She's a great singer !
Hm
Uh yeah, except insurance companies will do anything and everything to get out of their responsibility. She probably didn't know of her heart condition when she got the policy. With most insurance policies, they ask if you've ever been tested for cancer. People without a history of the disease will say no, when in fact they had been… mammograms, pap smears, etc, etc. So, if the disease were to randomly pop up an insurance company can void your policy because you didn't inform them you had been tested before (even though many "cancer tests" are part of your yearly check up). Hell, they've been known to void policies because of grammatical or spelling errors (on their part!!) in the policy. Insurance companies are incessantly screwing people over, so don't be so quick to judge, Perez.
One thing 4 sure: cosmetic surgery!
Actually, Toni did not sue them because of having pericarditus. She has long had pericarditus and publicly started speaking about it in 2004. She is suing because she has Microvascular Angina which is another heart condition that she found out while performing in Vegas. So I can see why she would not have put that on her insurance application since she did not get diagnosed with it until she was performing in Vegas a year.
Insurance companies are snakes and they are only countersuing her because they do not want to pay but I think Toni will win her case through a settlement offer from Lloyds of Londonn.
