Blame Kanye! Chicago Eliminated From Olympic Ballot

Regardless of the strong support system including President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and even Oprah, the International Olympics Committee eliminated Chicago in the first round of voting, followed quickly by Tokyo being eliminated in the second round.
Mayor Richard Daley is said to be very disappointed and it is unknown whether or not the city will regroup to bid for the 2020 Summer Games.
The reaction in Chicago is probably mixed as a recent poll found that public support fell to 47 percent, most likely due to the worry of increased taxes.
The final decision between Madrid and Rio de Janeiro has yet to be announced.

The poll I looked at yesterday said that 70% of Chicagoans wanted the Olypmics there. I think Rio is a good choice, being that the Olympics have never been on the continent of South America.
dont know how madrid is safer…chicago is a beautiful city and has wonderful, warm people living there. it is a shame that we didnt win but there is the next Olympics…hopefully, Rio will win it now.

Of course Rio won. When I think of the Olympics in Rio I feel excited, but when I think of Chicago I think about how boring it would be. Rio has music, dancing, and passionate people. Chicago has a park, off Broadway plays, and restaurants.

Obama is pushing for the olympics in Chicago because he owes Valerie Jarrett a political favor. Jarrett is a slumlord who let her properties like Grove Parc Plaza get so bad that it now may be condemned. WHY? Because she has been pushing for the Olympics in Chicago for a while and is going to demolish her properties that she purposely let get so unlivable so she can get more $$ and have the Olympic village (which as already been promised to her) on her property. I live in Chicago, and yes this is a beautiful city but Chicago has way too many issues to worry about the Olympics. The Mayor, the President and his cabinet (from Chicago) should have concentraed on the kids killing kilds in this city before they worry about the Olympics or anything else. Obama came across as to Threating and Needy in his Speech. Besides ask Cities that have hosted Summer Olympics in the past how costly it is to maintain all the facilites that are built and hardly ever used again. They did Chicago a Favor!

The IOC awarded Rio for one reason.. not Oprah, as much as I love her… but because that continent NEVER had an olympics, Brazil is HUGELY strong in sports, and now they will be able to showcase that… CONGRATULATIONS… as much as I LOVE Chicago and thought all the nominated cities were great… Rio really deserved it
