It is a strong possibility that Rachel Bilson will…WAIT FOR IT… be revealed as the elusive mother on How I Met Your Mother!
Rachel is slated to appear in the show's big 100th episode, which producers have promised will bring main character Ted one step closer to his future wife and mother of his kids. Though it is possible that she maybe another detour before hitting the final destination, we would love to see Rachel back in the TV game for a longer stint than just an episode.
Certainly would give her more to do than just hang around Gayden all day long.

Can you please post the fact that there will be spoilers in your post? I have been watching How I Met Your Mother since day one, and you have completely ruined it for me.

oh hahaha I thought you meant an ACTUAL mother. I love that show so freakin much! but… I dont want rachel to be the mother…. just no… they can get someone waaaay better and more motherly looking. or something lol. Rachel still looks like a trendy, somewhat bitchy, college girl. No where near mature enough to play the mom we've been dying to see on HIMYM!!!

There's no way she's the mother. The creators have already mentioned in several issues that they are hoping to run the show all the way through to seven seasons (now currently in their 5th). So although her character may have a close connection with the mother, it's not going to be her. However, since HIMYM is renewed season to season, she is probably a "contingency mother". Meaning if the show is cancelled they could rewrite it to be her. (Ex: Victoria from season 1 and Stella from seasons 3 & 4)
