Dr. Phil Dropped By Texas TV Station!

Oh, the sweet irony of turning against your own!
Good thing he deserves it!!!
Post-Newsweek's KPRC Houston has pulled Dr. Phil off the air in its 3 o'clock timeslot and replacing it with Oprah's new protege, Dr. Oz.
“It’s out of desperation that I did this," said Post-Newsweek President Alan Frank. “I did everything but stand on my head to get [CBS’] attention over the years.”
The station purchased rights to air the show till 2011, but due to disappointing ratings and tabloid-centered content, they felt it was better to abandon ship. According to Nielson ratings, Dr. Phil's viewership is down 22% from last year!
“We’ve been disappointed for some time in the direction of the show,” continued Frank. “It used to be a friend to female viewers and it’s changed to become a very tabloid show. It’s not the topics, it’s the way they treat the topics.”
No one, but CBS Television Distribution can deny that the show's gone downhill.
The studio states, "The facts are that KRPC has a contractual obligation to pay for the show through 2011. We have listened to the station's comments about the show and we are as proud of the content and direction as we've ever been. We are confused by the station's actions."
Do they watch the show or just sell commercials?!
Because it blows hard!
Meanwhile, Dr. Oz is up 13% in Houston from a month ago!
“We had no sense that Dr. Phil was going to do anything different so we finally decided to see if we could get ratings from a show other than this one,” said Frank.
Looks like Dr. Phil someone needs to take their own advice and GET REAL!

Dr. Phil Sucks. I can't stand the guy. Serioulsy, hes's a tool. I watched his show one time, and he had the creators of "Bum Fights" on the show. Right when the show started, they showed a few clips from their stupid Bum fights show, and when they were over, he told the creator, I don't even want to look at you. Get off the show. Whether I agree with him or not, why did Dr. Phil even have him on in the first place. Again, what an idiot. Then, the whole Britney Spears thing. I hope his show gets cancelled in more cities, becuase Dr. Phil Stinks
He doesn't give any real advice to help anyone, all he says is "hows that workin for ya"?? He has no business trying to act like a psychologist to anyone!
This show has always been ridiculous.

This guy's show sucks! I hate it, specially at the end of the show when he grabs his midget wife's hand and walks out! Annoying!
It's not so much Dr. Phil (who does suck though) its the timeslot that was the soap Guiding Lights timeslot and its considered a death slot lots of other stations run Dr. Oz, or the new game show Lets make a deal in its timeslot (starting monday) for some reason people abandon that timeslot.
Fr Phil a to judgmental ". His my way or the highway attitude makes you want to kick the TV or turn the channel.

Dr. Oz did a free medical testing event for the Houston area last weekend, so he got some great publicity for his show in Houston.

I would still rather watch Phil an dr. Oz, I think the reason Oprahs ratings are doing so badly is because of her insistance on always having Oz on the show, it is like watching paint dry,and his new show will not last more than 6 months.
Thank goodness he finally got the boot. I can't believe he lasted this long. His show is really boring and he is always a grouch on the show. Thank goodness that we still have Oprah.

One of the things that was most irritating about his show was how many commercials there were. It was ridiculous how many commercials they jammed into that show.
Dr Phil has no compassion. He blabbed about Britney which was WRONG. He judges too harshly. Dr Phil Go home to Texas and RETIRE
From a professional standpoint there have been times when I believe (Dr) Phil has done more harm than good and I am not alone in saying that. He's made his money. Maybe it's time to back out gracefully.
Dr. Oz's show is WAYYYYYY better than Dr. Phil's. Mostly because Dr. Oz doesn't have that smug, self-important air about him. He's a genuine guy. Dr. Phil's just an annoying guy and I think that it's time for him to go away. He's a "professional." He should know how to handle the rejection of millions of people.

Doctor Oz creeps me the eff out. Doctor Phil's show does kinda suck now but he's had a good run. Time to get rid of both of them, Doctor Oz first though. That guy bugs me.
