Carla Bruni Gets Too Many Hits! Website Crashes!
First Lady of France, Carla Bruni, launched her own personal website this morning - only to find it crashed several minutes in when it received too much traffic flow.
Describing herself as the "ultimate modern woman", the website is to be a forum to showcase Carla's charity work "as well as giving a glimpse into her life in France in the Elysee Palace with Nicolas Sarkozy."
Because we are all dying to know what that is like. (Actually, some of you must, because the site crashed!)
Other gems to be found when the sire returns to the World Wide Web is her "recent live performance at a charity concert in New York, and a tribute to Jean Paul Gaultier, one of her favorite fashion designers."
We think this is kind of…tacky. Hopefully, our First Lady isn't looking to do the same.

As a French girl I have to say … most of us don't like Nicolas Sarkozy and think that Carla made herself completly ridiculous to have married him (after 3 month of dating, by the way…) and do this is just another shit they pull on us…. I am very ashamed…

You do realize that Carla was famous before she became First Lady of France, right? She's been a model and musician for years, so having an official website is hardly tacky. Besides, her music is beautiful. Try listening to "Quelqu'un ma dit" for yourself, Perez.

No, Perez, tacky is posting a concert review while completely drunk, tacky is wearing a micky mouse t shirt (and nothing else) to a fashion opening, tacky is using your website which is supposed to be cutting edge gossip to promote every lame project you have going, etc. While Carla may have shown a certain lack of judgement by marrying Nicholas, in your wildest dreams you willl never be even close to her quality.
I have always been a big fan of her since her modeling days. Even though she was a supermodel, she was never considered pretty, in fact she was known for her awkward look. All of a sudden she marries a president, she's the most beautiful woman in the world.
I think it is a great idea.
