Fighting Back! Kate Gosselin Takes To The Today Show

In the wake of Jon Gosselin emptying the family bank account, Kate Gosselin appeared on The Today Show this morning to set the record straight.
Jon and Kate had a joint bank account with $231,000 that an arbitrator declared could not be withdrawn from by either party with the exception of Kate to pay the family bills.
Apparently Jon removed a large sum from the account a few days before she filed for divorce in June. "Not completely, but enough that I was worried," Kate explained.
At the advice of her attorney, Kate then removed $100,000 to set aside in the event Jon took more money. She ended up giving Jon half of that amount to do as he pleased with - which resulted in purchasing "random" things for himself.
Shortly after they were instructed to abide by the arbitrator's rules so Kate returned the money to the account, a decision she didn't feel 100 percent confident about: "I didn't feel like it would be safe, to be honest."
She was right, because up until his last withdrawal from the account on September 29, he has left a mere $1,000 in the account that contains all of their liquid funds. A weepy Kate says:
"When you've left your children and their mother without the funds to pay for the roof over their head, it's not acceptable. I need that money to provide for them. We were in the position after our sextuplets were born that we could not pay our bills. We did the show to provide a better life for them. Never did I think I'd be back in the same position. I have a stack of bills in my purse I can't put in the mail."
The divorcing couple can't seem to communicate with each other and Kate says that every time they come to some sort of agreement, "he hangs up the phone and does something different." Other times she can't reach him at all and has to make decisions on her own.
Kate further believes that Jon is on the receiving end of "bad counsel." Remember, his first attorney dropped Jon as a client back in September. Kate gets a quick burn on Jon in, saying: "He's always been one to listen to the one next to him." Isn't that the truth?

As for the kids, Kate says their upset that they aren't filming for the show:
"I told the kids over the weekend that we weren't filming. Times eight, there was wailing and sobbing. They love the crew, they love the interaction, they love the events. It is not harmful to them. They are angry."
Kate is still somehow holding out hope that Jon is going to change his ways saying, "I'm still hoping at some point I'll receive a phone call, and the old Jon is back."
We're not sure how likely that is, but Jon definitely needs to return the $$$$$$ for the sake of his children! Kate's mani-pedis and tanning sessions aside, the kiddies need to eat and a place to sleep!

And now she's the one saying she took money, that she gave Jon the money he had, and the timelines in the lawyers letter (which has been posted everywhere) doesn't match up with hers. I am in the business of equal rights (and a female) and quite frankly, these types of cases intrigue me a lot. Too often, the men in our system even lose their visitation rights over "he said, she said", or even when the woman admits to being a douche and men are caught in the cold and the kids are caught in the mess. Watching this unfold has been very entertaining but depending on the judges and what they do, could set some precedents for future cases of celebrities and the ever growing "reality star" sector when it comes to children.

SHE said she was advised by her lawyer (which, if they were together until divorce announcement like she claims, she shouldn't have had until AFTER arbitration) to withdraw money. Not sure what you are contesting about the $50k. It was exactly my point in stating she gave him the money to do with as he pleased. As for the rest, instead of perusing only PH's site, head over to where you can see the legal document claimed by Kate's lawyer the TM and Z, in which he directly states that Jon took the money AFTER the Larry King appearance, which was NOT in September as Kate claims here. So was her lawyer lying, was she lying, or did her so called wonderful lawyer that takes pot shots at Jon's lawyer spouting off, and granting paid interviews to Radar about him withdrawing AFTER LKL mean that HE doesn't know what he's doing, instead of Jon's lawyer not knowing what he's doing? You really need to go look at more than just the clip. Two things
1. Kate spent the same amount on plastic surgery.
2. Kate didn't put the money into the kids account. TLC was forced to by the state of PA once they realized that the children were not being paid for being on the show.

I may not agree with how they are raising their kids or making money. How they raise their children is their business. Regardless of what Kate earned on her own, Jon should not have raided the family account. That money was supposed to be spent on the kids care, housing, food, etc…. its a stupid idea now to cancel the show. The kids have their lives turned upside down because their mom and dad aren't together so they need something in their lives that is normal, something they recognize which helps them get through the days. Now everything they know has been taken away from them and they are confused. I say you should let the kids decide what is best for them. We all think that being taken off the show is best for them but they might think different, there really isn't anything wrong with being on tv, they were doing ok till their dad screwed up.

It is very rare to find women who care about all rights, including a man's/father's. I've worked with several fathers who reminded me of the movie Liar Liar. You know, where the dad is the great and caring one, but the wife cares about money. It seems to me, this is playing out very close to that movie in terms of the kids. Whether people want to admit it or not, the public court is just as influencing as a real court when it comes to celebrities. I mean, look at Britney Spears and her conservatorship. That NEVER would have happened in another court where a woman "attacks a car" or even threatens suicide. That type of arrangement is rarely made so easily. Same thing could happen to these kids, where they end up not getting to see their dad and Kate not only gets them and doesn't stick around, but also gets to keep banking off them once the divorce is final. Anyone who sees that as a good thing, maybe THEY need a conservator!

This is the same woman who demanded that the state had a responsibility to provide financial support and other assistance for her kids because, and I quote, "…society has a responsibility to help with the children, since modern medicine promotes the use of fertility drugs, which can lead to multiple births."
She's an entitled, self-absorbed twatsicle who has been walking around with her hand out since she was gestating. I have no doubt she's been hiding assets, and she has more than enough money.
Jon is acting like a complete douche, but you know what? If a woman came out of an emotionally abusive relationship with a controlling, manipulative spouse, and acted like an immature idiot, we'd cut her some slack. Because he's a guy, all of that is overlooked and Jon gets no grace period for acting out and assholery. Give him some time to get his head on straight again, and hopefully get some therapy to cope with years of denigration and abuse, and then we'll see what kind of man he really is.
