President Obama is scheduled to speak at the Human Rights Campaign annual dinner on Sunday, the eve of the National Equality March in D.C.
Although, he has faced criticism for not taking a stronger stance on gay and lesbian issues, he is only the second president to address the community next to Bill Clinton in 1997.
Thousands are expected to show up this weekend hungry for equality, so we're expecting him to bring it!

First, a dinner on Sunday wouldn't be the eve of the March, it would be the night of the March. (Just clarifying). Regardless, I am going to be flying from Washington State to attend this historic and monumental event. Change cannot take place unless enough people stand up and voice their opinions. And I mean that for everything, Thomas Paine once wrote, “every age and generation must be as free to act for itself, in all cases, as the ages and generations which preceded it” , which alludes to the fact that laws and government are not concrete, they are there to serve the purpose of safeguarding the people and their interests. And when our interest change so must the laws.
Heh, SNL slams him over the weekend for nothing he's promised, including on gay rights, and his response is yet another speech! His continued reliance on empty rhetoric and non-stop TV appearances to make it SEEM like things are getting done is wearing thin. Now if you want to bring up the prop 8 issue, it was voted on and majority rules. I dont live in california so its not really any of my business. But I can guarentee if you put up this vote in Michigan, a democratic state, then it would have the same result as california.
i think its wrong that gays and lesbians cant get married. two of my best friends are lesbians and they have been together for a really long time. though they say that it doenst matter to them because there happy just being together i would love to one day get to see them walk down the isle and have that special day that everyone deserves to have. me and BF have decided that until our friends get married we wont be getting married. if it takes for ever for gays and lesbians to be able to get married then i guess me and him will be like our friends ans just be happy to be together.
