Even the arrival of Hilary Duff couldn't save Gossip Girl from it's major ratings slump!
This week, the show came in dead last again in the ratings, only scoring 2.1 million viewers. Unless all you tweens are watching Dancing With the Stars, we just don't get it.
What? Does Chace Crawford not do it for you girls anymore?
Hurry up and start watching, unless you want to see it go the way of The Beautiful Life. (Is Mushy Farton still crying over that?!)

I read all the Gossip Girl books and I watch the show, but it is nothing, I mean NOTHING compared to the show anymore. The story-line sucks. They can't show half the shit they did in the books on TV so it's just boring. Oh and I have mounds of homework on top of meetings and sports after school, so it's pretty hard for me to watch TV during the week.

i just started watching the show because i wanted to see what all the hype was about and laughed my ass off because it was so horrible.
It's only still on the air because the CW has nothing to replace it with.
for gods sake perez- check your fucking facts before you post crap like this. I study this shit in college and The CW is notorious for having lower ratings then all the other networks. 2.07 viewers is good for them. Vampire diaries only got something like 3.5 million viewers last week….and when you compare that to the other networks, thats also shit. And when you add in the DVR ratings the total number of viewers goes up…a lot!!!! you might wanna check out this kind of stuff before you go spouting this bullshit.

I really like gossip girl. It's a sharply written show and fun to watch, but the problem is the chemistry of the relationships on the show. The only couple you can really get behind are Blair and Chuck and their kind of lagging right now. No other couple has really any chemistry. They have tried to put Chace C with just about everyone and it never works out. Dan and Serena…boring. They need to go buy the books a little bit more. V and D need to get together…S and N need to have a story line. Come on people it's not that hard. I know…way to much thought, but I was laidoff…so this is all I have to do.

Gossip Girl, like many CW shows, gets a huge bump from DVR numbers. There are also FAR fewer CW stations than there are ABC/CBS/NBC/Fox outlets. Gossip Girl won't be going anywhere any time soon.

All the CW shows suck! Gossip Girl and One Tree Dill need to be fucking canned immediately. Oh! and Melrose Place with all those whores too that includes Asslee. I Tivo everything, including GG, so my viewing never counts in the ratings. I think most of the demographic for this, and other young adult shows, tivo or watch on line. I still watch every week - just a day or two later.

I'm sorry Perez… but you are no so bright. They go by the demographic on the nealson ratings, which is what they look at. It is number 1 with women from 13-35. Every week you blast this show and you are wrong. It does great with its demographic. Geeze

the cw is not in as many markets as the big 3 networks, so i don't think the ratings are as dire for a network like the cw then they would be if this show were on abc, cbs, or nbc. so shut your fat ugly face up and get a life.
Vast areas of the country do not get the 'CW' channel or whatever the hell it is called. Its amazing given that it is the only one you ever write about. I feel blessed to have satellite TV and am spared this moronic, lowest common denominator, garbage.
Of course I am still watching GG!! I have to say it is one of CW's best shows by far!
obviously they don't count for dvr'ing or itunes downloads I can't think of show that I watch that I don't dvr and then watch so I can fast forward through commercials also gossip girl is always a top 10 download on itunes…I think that the current rating system is not very accurate.
I love this show… i watch it religiously… but they do need to step it up… a little more twists and turns would definitely help. but i still love the show. i hope they dont get rid of it.

i'm a huge fan, but this season has been very boring, the writing has sucked, the chemistry doesnt like like it's gelling this year, plus the 'Gossip girl' narrative part of it, just isnt working in the college setting. Dunno, it's just not the same.
maybe they should have started the characters as Freshman in High School. Rather than Juniors, cause going to college always screws up shows (OC, Beverly Hills 90210, Dawsons Creek..etc)
