Even the arrival of Hilary Duff couldn't save Gossip Girl from it's major ratings slump!
This week, the show came in dead last again in the ratings, only scoring 2.1 million viewers. Unless all you tweens are watching Dancing With the Stars, we just don't get it.
What? Does Chace Crawford not do it for you girls anymore?
Hurry up and start watching, unless you want to see it go the way of The Beautiful Life. (Is Mushy Farton still crying over that?!)

Re: RussianChick – I agree. I never watch it, but nothing was on on Monday night so I left it on. It was so boring! The acting was appalling too. I know Tyra Banks isn't a regular but I can't believe they allowed that. The rest of the cast acted poorly as well though (except for the guy who went for Hilary Duff). What is the appeal of this show? Don't get me wrong I like fluff and watch The Hills, True Blood and Vampire Diaries. At least those keep me interested and wanting to see the next episode.
They won't cancel it. Even if the ratings aren't huge, it has a huge fan base. I don't watch GG on TV. I watch it online. The Canadian network that carries the show doesn't show it in my city so I have to watch it on their website.

i watch it and i know a lot of people who do. this season is pretty decent so far. better than heroes, at least, which BLOWS now. so sad.

I still watch it but honestly: It became so boring! No exciting storyline nor major drama anymore. The story of Blair trying to became queen of NYU sucks and the only exciting story so far was the one with the real son of Rufus and Lilly but they set this story apart. And you really need more than beautiful young starlets and stylish places to make a story work.
perez stop talking about gossip girl!! the show isn't going anywhere, i'm tired that all weeks you talk about GG ratings,, there are other shows that are more in danger to be cancel than this one,, and if you take the time to research you find out.

Well, just to comment on your thing, Chace Crawford is not really 'on' the show. He is showed like 5 minutes per episode and has a terrible storyline this season round. Give me more evil Georgina, please!

Let me just say this about Gossip Girl…
One, I love the show…however I have literally had to FORGET about the books and just watch the show for what it is worth. Once I stopped comparing the books to the show I was able to enjoy it much more.
Two, Chuck and Blair…really now? On the show, it makes sense…it's actually sweet and it helps Chuck's character seem a bit more human…but who else was completely pissed off that they took Blair and Nate's beautiful moment from the books and turned Blair's loss of virginity into a sick back of the limo escapade with Chuck Bass?
Lately the show's plot is a bit slow…but it's getting better as it goes along. I don't think that Gossip Girl is in any danger of being canceled. It is one of the CW's best shows! I agree that most people are Tivoing and DVRing this show and watching it later or on the weekends or something. If I had such a device I would most definitely do that! They did smarten up a lot by having the show on an hour later this season…at least now I can watch House and Gossip Girl!

well, many of us watch it on internet since we don't have any other option (i live in mexico and have no idea where i can watch the cw), so people do watch it, just not on tv.
I watch it, but I see the show declining in viewership. Kids want vampires nowadays. Fuck me, I don't get it. I think twilight and true blood are fucking stupid, gratutious piles of emptiness.

Gossip Girl always had low ratings but always wins at the teen choice awards it's also there number 1 streamed show on the CW site as of last year. So what's the deal…why the post, huh. I love GG, but I read the books when I was just starting high school and I'm finished now and I have to say the show is edited in a very typical censored way, like here in Europe they would just show all the shit that happened, not cushion it for all those little pre-teens and young teenages who watch it….
The books are WAY better and personally if I was the author I'd be pretty pissed off that they dont even follow the storyline of the books!! At all, they just took all her characters and made them less offensive and then ruined the series by not following the book!

Heinous story lines! I mean they were always heinous, but entertainingly so.
Shows always start doing badly when the kids go off to the college…it happened with Dawson's Creek, Felicity, and pretty much every other teen show. But I love Gossip Girl. I'm not watching it right now because I'm trying to finish season 2 first…but I guess I'm going to have to start watching before they cancel it. YIKES!
But I have to say..a lot of shows that started off great lose their spark eventually but most of them get it back. For example, Desperate Housewives and Lost. Gossip Girl is only on season 3 so it a chance.
Those ratings don't include the amount of people who watch it online and the number of people who downloaded it from itunes and other sources. TV's dead but the internet is alive and well.

Gossip Girl insults my intelligence - I'd need a lobotomy to tolerate it. That said, I will tune in occasionally for a glimpse of Mr. Crawford. Art is its own validation, and that man is *all art*.
I simply LOOOOOOVE GG, and I find they should care a little more about the real cast and stop calling guests..
Like, where's Nate???? He's so good, and gosh, Blair's so boring with this old queen thing..
And, please… Serena and Dan are so great as a couple and so annoying as brother and sister…
