Mariah Re-releases Album, Hopes For A Miracle

The first time around, Mariah Carey's new album, Memiors of an Imperfect Angel, didn't soar. Let's see if round two has different results!
The new new album will include remixes to every song on Memoirs. Producer Tricky Stewart says it will be "easy" and "fun" to do, but he has big plans for Mariah's cover of Foreigner.
He says: "I'm gonna do a remix to Want to Know What Love Is myself. I'mma raise the tempo up. I'mma try to make it into something else."
Let's hope that helps. No word on when this remix album will be released, but in the meantime, the third single off the original album has been decided and will be H.A.T.E.U.

You're an asshole Perez. Her album sold a fuckload more than Madonna's latest album. That being said, I am getting tired of her releasing an album every 5 minutes. She should go away for awhile so people at least miss her. She's has like three albums plus another greatest hits record in the last 4-5 years. Its annoying.

ok 1st of all to all the Madonna haters Madonna's album is a greatest hits cd Not a "NEW" material album like Mariah's so you can't compare the two. 2nd yeah mariah "new" album( they all sound the same) its a flop. Deal with it!

I actually think the album is really good. It's totally relevant with today's music. I think that H.A.T.E.U. is a damn good song too. I have to give Mariah props for not doing the usual what everyone expects. This one is alittle different. I hope that she sells tons more when the remix is released.

WITHOUT YOU and AGAINST ALL ODDS (a rerecorded version with UK band WESTLIFE who were popular 5 years ago and her song HERO went to number one after being recorded by XFACTOR tv show finalist). Madonna has 12 in USA and 13 in the UK number ones. Madonna still has MORE NUMBER 1s than Mariah. ( 40 dance #1s. Accounting for certain complexities in how soundtracks are categorized by each source, Madonna's totals top Houston's. As noted last week, according to the RIAA, Madonna ranks 15th all-time with 63.5 million units certified. Houston places 20th with 54 million.
According to Nielsen SoundScan - whose data begins in 1991, after the two stars had begun their careers - album sales since that year stand at 26,347,000 for Madonna and 23,786,000 for Houston (again, including soundtrack sets such as "The Bodyguard," which is officially considered a soundtrack to Nielsen SoundScan).
With Madonna and Houston having head starts in the '80s over Carey, who arrived with the release of her self-titled debut collection in 1990, how does the lattermost artist fare against the other two? Like last week, let's compare using figures from both the RIAA (where longevity gives a potential edge to Madonna and Houston) and Nielsen SoundScan, where a span of 1991 to date covers a period in which all three performers have actively released product.
The RIAA places Carey just one spot below Madonna, in 16th place among all artists with 62.5 million units certified. So, per the RIAA, it's Madonna (63.5 million), Carey (62.5) and Houston (54) in this comparison.
According to Nielsen SoundScan, Carey is the clear winner by a wide margin, actually topping the total album sales - again, since 1991 - of Madonna and Houston combined. Carey's sum stands at 51,833,000.

Madonna's Celebration a Greatest Hits is #7 in the USA and #1 outside the USA unlike Mariah Madonna is a global phenomenon and her fanbase is universal. Mariah's new album is selling so bad it's sad.

It must be hard for Mariah Carey to look at the first week sales figures of her poorly reviewed Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. According to Hits Daily Double, Mariah will debut behind both Barbra Streisand and Paramore with a brand new studio album that she shamelessly promoted to almost every media outlet. Madonna comes behind at number 7 (Celebration), but with a double disc greatest hits album that has most songs already available on other discs.

There is a reason for this: Mariah is old, washed up, and dresses like an underweight twenty year old when, in reality, she is an overweight forty year old.
Mariah should take lessons from Madonna: in order to continually sell records, you need to have at least a small amount of talent. Madonna's voice may only be average, but Mariah's voice has become a technical fingers-on-a-chalkboard disaster. Madonna's songwriting skills shine through on many songs such as "Live to Tell, "Miles Away," and "Like a Prayer." Mariah, on the other hand, sounds like she makes up the lyrics to her songs while she sings them.

Even during one of the worst recessions ever, Madonna can still fill up 50,000+ stadiums in the United States and play to 90,000+ stadiums worldwide. That's because she is an excellent performer who gives her audience what they want. Even non-fans attend Madonna's concerts because they know how great of a performer she is.

Mariah…not so much! The stuffed sausage looking singer struggled to fill a 2,000 seat theater in Las Vegas recently. A tour, which was planned last year, was suddenly terminated after Mariah's singles kept bombing. In order to fill seats, Mariah Carey would be better off playing small high school or junior high school auditoriums. This way, she wouldn't be so embarassed.
There is still hope for Mariah Carey. At this point in her career, she would do really well as a backup singer. This way, her faltering voice wouldn't be so noticeable. She can also become a Vegas lounge act where lipsyncing isn't as frowned upon. Give up already Mariah.
I work in an upscale department store and that perfume she's representing: "Forever" is major failing. We haven't sold one bottle and it's been out for over a month.

Ok. I like the album, but HATEU shouldn't be released. It's A Wrap or Angels Cry are the best two ballads on the CD. They should have released one of those. I think Angels Cry would do just as well as We Belong Together (both big memorable ballads). I am really lovin' Up Out My Face too.
