    I was visiting Key West Holloween 1993. I was at a bar on the rooftop and got into some coversation with a Dad & Mom from Atlanta. I told them I was from LA and hadn't come out about my 7 year relationship at that time.

    They were there supporting their son and having fun too. They told me I was not letting my parents into my life and it wasn't fair to anyone involved. A year later I told my folks I was gay and in '09 I'm still with my partner and my folks and I couldn't be closer. It was quite a relief.

    I'm kind of hoping to find that "kid" of the Atlanta parents who were on the gay bar roof supporting their "kid" who helped to push me out of the closet and become closer with everyone in my life. I would guess that he is early 40's now. I thank your Dad everytime I think of that event. It's what did it.

    The older I get, the more comfortable I become with my own heterosexuality and the less I care about whether someone is gay or not. I personally don't feel these marches do much for any cause, but if it were MY cause, I'd probably be a part of a march anyway. Hopefully we can stop talking about gay people soon. If we're not talking about gay people anymore, then we've reached equality.

    i live close to dc, but i definitely won't be there. although i don't see a problem with gay marriage, it does annoy me that most gays claim they want equality, blah, blah, and they don't want to judge, but they are some of the most prejudiced people out there. they always assume that everyone is against them, just because a person is religious or republican. i happen to be religious and republican leaning, and i am not white or white trash. i am native american and puerto rican and from the south and i am proud of it. at least people down here do have morals and beliefs. however wrong they may be.

    but i really don't think that gay marriage will effect my life whatsoever, because i am not gay and will never get in one, so i don't really see a problem with it. but like i said there is a problem with gays always assuming crazy things about others.

    The problem is people are not born homosexual. It is a choice, like murder, rape, theft, and suicide. You choose who you sleep with, you can choose right now to sleep with a man or woman. Only those in prison are forced to sleep with somone of the same gender. Choosing the homosexual lifestyle should not equate to special legislation. All Americans are already covered under our constitution/bill of rights. Stop the hate?
