Did Shaq plagiarize the idea for his reality TV show, Shaq Vs.?????
According to sportswriter Todd Gallagher, yes!
Gallagher is suing talent agency giants William Morris Endeavor to the tune of $5,000,000!!!
According to legal docs filed with the L.A. Superior Court on Wednesday morning, Gallagher created an idea for a show in which he, himself, would compete against pro athletes.
The sports writer claims the agency lifted his idea and transformed it into Shaq Vs., where O'Neal is the one competing against pro athletes in their respected fields.
In his own defense, Shaq says he came up with the idea all by himself.

It was never an original idea. Local sportscasters have been doing this gimmick for years.

it wasn't his idea as per an agreement between himself and Steve Nash as an "Exec. Producer." Nash says he came up with an idea for a show a couple of seasons ago and in the Lockeroom Shaq heard it and next thing you know Shaq's doing the show. Some tempers flared and Nash became involved with the show.

It's been done before. It will be done again. Not at all new or something to sue over. Though I'd rather watch throwdown with bobby flay. It's the same thing, but more interesting cause there's food.

1. The show is not 'upcoming'…. The whole season already aired over a month ago.
2. I don't think its possible to 'plagiarize' an unscripted reality show. Wrong term.
What do I believe? I believe people should COPYRIGHT their ideas before they show them around, and keep track of names and dates and have a witness with you when you do. Grow up and cover your a*s. Hollywood is infamous for swiping ideas.
Re: T.rex – I don't see the word upcoming anywhere in this post. I may be missing it but I don't see it. As to plagiarism, I agree, but would point out many "reality/unscripted" TV shows have quite a bit of scripting. But not plagiarism in this case. Frankly I was surprised Mario or his hairy ape of a sister managed to SPELL it correctly.
The guy who is suing actually wrote a book about some of his stuff. He did a very extensive interview on Elliott in the Morning in DC about this and also mentioned that he was in talks with some people about this show. I believe him all the way since I heard the interview long before I heard about shaq's stupid show

agreed it was never an original idea, but it doens't mean anyone deserves damages. People watch the show to see Shaq play against other greats, not some sportswriter nobody. Go home TOOL.
