      What's the problem here?
      Abortion should ALWAYS be an option if you're expecting a child.
      It is not murder. It woud be murder if the baby would grow up with a twelve year old mother or a cocaine addicted whore. THAT would be murder.
      So legalize abortion and quit complaining, because you would be happy if it were possible to have an abortion if you would be expecting an unwanted child.

      Regardless of how you feel about abortion (though, for the record and contrary to what ultra conservative people might think, I highly doubt there is any normal non-sadistic person out there who is just ecstatic about having an abortion) this law is an absolutely blatant violation of some of our basic human rights. We have a right to privacy, in both a general sense and when it pertains to our reproductive rights, and this is clearly a violation of them. So putting aside whether you are Pro Choice or Pro Life or whatever may in between, how can anyone possibly feel comfortable being governed by an instituion that can so effortlessly and without resignation rob you of your rights? Furthermore, there seems to be absolutely no sound reasoning behind this law; why does this information need to documented AND put on display for the public to view? Not only does it seem to be a way to coerce already terrified women into giving up their right to a choice and carrying a potentially unwanted pregnancy to term (which is also a violation of a human right by the way) but it also seems to be a way to twist and manipulate this information for some ultra right wing agenda. People need to come together and fight this!

      Well I'm done with my rant for the day. :)

      I think this will be overturned by the courts. Federal law says that giving out such info is against the law. Once again the extremist are trying to stop a woman's right. I know the knuckle dragging right believes that women who make such a tough choice are really jumping for joy at the decision. But it just isn't true. There are millions of unwanted and neglected children in this world. Put your efforts into helping them. I swear these freaks are nothing but bullies.

      As a woman from, and still living in Oklahoma, please do not think that this represents everyone here. We have to stick around though. If every free thinking person leaves the state, it will never change. We have to listen to bullshit from representatives that many (many) of us did not vote for, telling the nation that we all believe these wonen's info should be public, and that same sex marriage is an abomination, and that tattoos are evil…basically that if you aren't a white, christian family, (that can keep your dirty laundry hidden away) you are burning in hell! This law does not speak for all of us. And we can't leave just becuase we don't agree. If we all leave, it will never change.

      To everyone who is bashing Oklahoma: IT'S NOT OUR FAULT! Generally, the greater number of people in Oklahoma do not agree with abortion. BUT, this does not mean that we want women to have to have some of their information publically displayed! There have been protests at the Capital and other forms of raising awareness, but when it boils down to it, this will be done by our lawmakers with very little private citizen opinions counted.

      I am from Oklahoma. I am a Republican AND I have had an abortion. The majority of our state government is so messed up that they think spending money on beating women down is okay. There are so many things in our state that need financial attention such as poverty, unemployment, hunger and housing and yet this is how our leaders choose to use our money.

      It just abhors me to think that the people I have grown up around are so unforgiving and incapable of understanding that there are some girls/women who are not ready to raise a family.

      Things happen in our lives. Things we can't necessarily control, but though I regret now having an abortion, I know that I would have never been able to successfully raise that child if I had given birth to it.

      I live and die by the fact that we shouldn't judge each other until we have lived each others lives.

      I also think that our government needs to focus on what is important in our state and that is taking care of the babies, children and families that are already here that no one is caring for. Increasing this number of unwanted children only adds to that problem.

There are a minority of us who ARE liberals (& not "Okie" libs either) who are fervent Obama supporters, believe in equality under the law & separation of church & state. Women are SO downtrodden here….we are #1 in incarcerated women in the WORLD (they go in for the same offenses as men but don't get out as early), #6 in domestic abuse, #6 in teen pregnancy (so much for abstinence education), #6 in the nation in men killing their partners but we may be climbing & #46 in women's health & this is just the beginning…..We have advocacy groups but we are in serious need of national attention!!!       OK is not not O.K. Even without names this is a violation of HIPPA. I am against abortion (as well as the death penalty), but I recognize as a gay man I am not affected by this issue to the extent others are. I think both sides in this issue should come to certain compromises (ie for pro choice lobby compromise= No abortion without parental consent for minors, perhaps a brief waiting period, as there is to purchase firearms. For anti abortion lobby compromise on safe sex education, condom distribution, and support for$$$ the social programs that will be needed to help make abortion rare). My thought is that if compromise can be reached on the surrounding issues, less effort and money can be invested on this issue and more spent helping mothers choose not to abort. I guess ultimately I am pro choice and feel that abortion should become rare but remain available to women who make that choice when the fetus is in it's earlier stages of development and not viable without the mother. But again we can work together to reduce abortions.
