Travis Barker Visits Burn Center
Filed under: Inspiration > DJ A.M. > Travis Barker
On a Blink 182 tour stop in Atlanta, Travis Barker visited the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, who treated his injuries and friend DJ AM after a plane crash last September.
He stopped by with the intention of thanking the doctors that saved his life!!
"I'm here to say 'thank you' to everyone who took care of me after the accident," said Travis. "I was sort of unconscious the last time I was here, and I felt like I owed them a big 'thank you.' "
The drummer met with patients being treated at the center and signed autographs for them!
He even Tweeted his gratitude: "Just leaving the JMS burn center here in GA. Amazing talented people over there, angels is what I like to call them. Wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for them. Glad I was able to go by and say thank u. I'll never forget them or what they did for me."
And on top of the sizable donation, it was an especially honorable gesture!

Can any celebrity do something out of the goodness of their heart and not use it as a publicity stunt?
too much junkie business for me to give a shit fat ass.
Re: Olives – its not a publicity stunt you retard he went to visit doctors and nurses that helped him, its not everyday hes in Georgia, he doesnt fly anymore and he was driving past there and it was the best opportunity to visit and it worked out great for him. Travis doesnt need publicity stunts hes a legend in the drumming world and just had the most succesful tour of the summer more then 17000 people each show sometimes almost 30000 people….. Get Over your self Olives!!!
It's alway nice to receive a thank you for your commitment to excellence. We in Augusta, GA are proud of the work done at the Still Burn Center. We as a community are lucky to have such talented medical professionals in our city. They all deserve a huge thank you every day!!
mad props to my boy Travis! f'd up year for you. hang tough.
Travis is starting to get it. Empathy, love and wisdom comes from experiencing misfortune, so misfortune often turn out to be a blessing. Not wanting to sound too Confuciony, a well cooked Thanksgiving dinner is also a blessing.
gotta respect that…
Oh that Travis Barker. He's a real Mother Teresa.

FYI-Joseph Still Burn Center is in Augusta, Georgia. Travis was super nice and signed autographs for everyone!
Ahhh I use to volunteer at the Joseph M. Still Burn Unit back in AUGUSTA, GA {please get it right} during high school. The people that work in the Burn Unit are EXTREMELY SWEET ppl and I'm so glad he went back to visit.
Re: oh nOoooooOoO – Successful tour yes, most successful we think not.
Cheers to Travis for going back to recognize those who cared for him in his darkest hours. I worked in a burn unit and it is without doubt one of the most difficult places to work in a hospital. For many reasons.
Travis is such a gem; a real rough diamond.
is nice to hear that, I'm ill and i was in the hospital a few days ago and i can't stand this I really can't and knowing that he standed THAT pain makes me feel afortunated
