The tech savvy old dame took once again to her Twitter to let her fans know the happy news:
Dear Friends, My heart procedure went off perfectly. It's like having a brand new ticker. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes.

What a waste. She's how old?? That heart could've gone to someone with a loooong life ahead of them instead of someone on their last legs.

This woman is a major humanitarian. Her work fighting HIV AIDS is heroic, and she was one of the first to step up to the plate and fund raise, when it was not popular to do so. She should receive the Nobel prize. Of course, now it has become a joke.
…the woman has a generous heart. Maybe the operation will help her to continue her good works.

Re: bigray – …I met Miss Taylor at the Metropolitan Museum of Art years ago. She had a bodyguard with her and was polite, professional and kind. Larger than life in my mind, she is diminutive in size.
In the real world someone of Dame Taylors age and history of drug use wouldn't be able to have a new heart…. it's amazing what lots of money can get you…. right to the TOP of the list!

Yes, a tireless fighter for AIDS funding. She has given greatly of herself. Any ignorant comments, the usual stuff about an older person, blah blah is coming from ignorance, immaturity and lack of knowledge.
..ahhhh I just read here that she didn't actually get a new heart, just a fixed heart…. THAT makes more sense and in all honesty, is a little more ethical considering how many people are waiting for transplants with a whole life ahead of them…. teens etc.
