This is SO exciting!
With the success of her first ever American tour, the phenomenal Kylie Minogue has been offered a residency in Vegas joining the ranks of such fabulous performers as Elton John, Bette Midler and Cher!
Supportive sister Dannii Minogue says of her Kylie:
"The response from her shows in America have been phenomenal. They love her out there. She was nervous about going over for the first time, but it has gone better than she expected…I'm so proud of her. She called to tell me how well everything has been going and about the Vegas offer…Kylie's show is perfect for Vegas, it's so theatrical. She has loved performing out there."
Her show really is perfect for Vegas — it's all about the glitz and the glamor!

Love you Kylie!! She really is awesome, no one over here really gives her a chance, they just compare her to other people, well PS, Kylies been wearing costumes like that since way before Lady Gaga was around. She deserves this, and she is one of the most normal down to earth celebrities out there. Maybe thats why Americans don't like her, cause theres no drama surrounding her… sad!!!

Kylie was awesome in Chicago Wednesday night, hope this is true! I was so impressed that she put on an amazing show and sang live 100% of the time and sounded fantastic. She might not have a huge voice but she can hit some pretty impressive notes when she wants to and was a down to earth diva. Next to Madonna this was probably one of the best dance-pop concerts I've ever seen. If you live in NYC and she's heading your way def go see her, she was so much better live then GaGa and Brit.
Except Kylie has never had a bonafied hit in America save for "Can't Get You OUt of My Head." BAD idea. She doesn't have the catalogue or the mainstream US fanbase to support a residency. The international travel and tourism to Vegas is less than 30%. How many of those are Kylie fans? Really, Kylie is only a big sucess in the UK and UK territories. Sorry — I smell a stinker which Vegas DOESN'T need right now. I like her plenty, but she can't fill a theatre in Vegas on a nightly basis. No way. No how.
Hope Kylie got permission to do Vegas should she be summoned before her Royal Majesty Queen Ga Ga!

Kylie's Vegas show SOLD OUT so I think there's sufficient reason to believe she could fill some seats on a recurring basis. When I was at the Hollywood Bowl show last weekend it was PACKED with people, I'm sure they'd all drive a few hours to Vegas to see Ms. Minogue; I know me and my gays would!

It's actually the other way around - Kylie was doing these things long before Lady Gaga decided to copy her (and others).

Amazing how rumors travel so fast. Dannii hasn't even heard about the news, but they quote her. If it was the case that she gets a residence show in LV, I'd be seeing her show quite often. However, I don't see "The Pearl" to be her venue. Too many other hot acts perform there. Unless, like Celine's case, they build her her own room.
I love Gaga as much as the next flamboyantly gay seksi man, or smart young lady - but Kylie was around way before Gaga. I haven't seen any confirmation beyond that one article that's circulating with the same quote. I'm not convinced it's not a rumor yet. BUT! If true? More delightful than words can describe. I'll certainly make a trip to Vegas for another Kylie show and I'm sure many who have already seen her, plus those who couldn't, will too. It's cheap to fly there. Cheap to stay there. They'll get a significant amount of foreign visitors as well. Please let it be true!

While I love Kylie, I don't think she would do well in a Vegas residency. She's just not known enough in the United States. I saw the concert at The Palms last weekend and it was fantastic and definitely carries the weight of a big Vegas production, but at the same time, she's just not popular enough to hold a long term residency. -Granted, the source on this story is the 'Mirror' newspaper, a London tabloid, so there's a pretty good chance this isn't true. We shall see!
