In an unprecedented ratings hike for the show, Fox's Family Guy has been killing the competition, even beating out fan favorite Desperate Housewives!
This is the first season Family Guy has surpassed the viewership of the ABC soap and although the numbers are close, it's a pretty great accomplishment for Fox and creator Seth MacFarlane.
We wonder what's caused the interest to rise?

You are such a misinformed tool. Family Guy is not killing the competition. In fact NBCs Sunday Night Football had double the amount of viewers than Family Guy (7 million more!!!!). Also ABC's Housewives beat Family Guy in overall viewers by 4 million viewers. Family Guy did beat the Housewives in the age 18-49 share and ratings, but not by much. In fact Family Guy was down by 12% from the previous week when Fox had an NFL overrun to help boost ratings. The Housewives are no doubt in their declining years and with all the expense of the show may very well be ready to be put out to pasture in syndication.
Forgot to say I'm a fan of Family Guy as well.

Family Guy pulls you in and keeps you laughing. The other animated shows like South park and Simpsons are so boring. They dont have many jokes, it just follows a long boring story.

The reason that FG is doing so well in the ratings is because I have to finally admit that DH has finally for me jumped the shark. The show is ridiculous and trite. Last season was my final season of being a fan of DH. I can now move on and watch my favorite show for good.
