It's funny because it's so true. Have you ever been to the Vatican? The Popemobile's garage door is thick solid gold, that alone costs a few hundred millions of dollars. Nevermind the Sistine Chapel and thousands of priceless (stolen) artifacts. To make matters even more hilarious, St. Peter's Basilica naturally has donation boxes, because the richest place in the world can't get rich enough. Seriously, this is the kind of thing that makes me scoff at organized religion and wish Jesus would just come down already and go all Robin Hood on it. This is NOT what a church/religion was intended to be. And they wonder why attendance has dwindled so severely…

The Vatican is only a part of what the Catholic Church owns. There is the Cologne Cathedral in Germany, Notre Dame in Paris and all of the beautiful cathedrals throughout Italy that tourists usually see. I wonder how far up the Church is ranked among the world's richest organizations.

I think that what she said is absolutely rude and not needed. I am Catholic and also am open minded to other people, their views, lifestyles and their religion. Thus the basis of truly being religious- acceptance of others.
A lot of people think of Catholicism as old, narrow minded views, and I can not speak for all but there are a lot of us out there who value this religion but still have modern liberal views such as myself.

In Judaism you are judged how good of a person you are by how much you do for charity. It's like a prestige thing with the relgion. You don't even know.
