The producers of Heroes seem to understand that after four years on the air, their show is getting a little stale.

Cue the lesbian kiss and the killing off of major characters!

Well, one character actually, and we don't know who it is yet. All we know for sure is that the character is male, an original cast member, and should be sorely missed by any true fan of the show.

We also understand that this character is so recognizable, people who don't even know the show that well will be surprised he's killed off.

Our money is on the Asian guy who saves the cheerleader.

      Im 99% sure it is going to be Hiro. He has been reported even my masi oka to have a terminal illness. Not to mention he tells peter he has a brain tumor. Love the show and he is a main part but I say kill him. I want the cheerleader gone to.

      It's Nathan Petrelli. Hiro has a brain tumor, but some kid with healing power is going to save him. Sylar rebooted when Nathan was killed (a second time, cause he died at the end of last season) and now he is not coming back. Maybe in flashbacks and that's it.

      *SPOILERS*

      Nathan died last season, and Sylar was made to think he was Nathan. In a recent episode, "Nathan" was murdered, and Sylar climbed out of the ground, apparently reawakened. So Nathan is toast. And for most of the season, it's been known that Hiro is already dying (brain cancer or a tumor; I forget which).

      Of course, they could end up killing another male lead, but that would seem kind of excessive.

      They already killed of a major character! Last week! When Nathan, who actually died last season, was killed and buried, moments later Sylar, who's body and power as a shape shifter was used to keep Nathan around thanks to… oh never mind how they did it… but the point is, unless some hoodoo is used to bring Nathan back, he's the lead character that died and is gone for good.

      Ok so who's known beyond the show? As a character, I'd say Sylar but he's obviously immortal. Besides, he's my favorite eye candy in the show so I hope they don't fuck with him. Aside from him, I think people would be surprised to see Peter die. But then again, he can heel himself too. Nathan's pretty much dead but wasn't that famous to begin with. I guess Hiro dying wouldn't be a big surprise but it would be very sad. He's so cute!! Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see. I stil love the show, no matter what the critics say, it's fascinating!

      I highly doubt it will be Hiro. Yes he has a brain tumor, but in the preview for next week Peter seemed intent on doing something about it. Sylar on the other hand is a likely candidate (considering Zachary Quinto's new found film success with the reboot of the Star Trek franchise and the likely sequels to come).

      The so recognizable to non-fans, leads me to Hiro, and again Brain Tumor !!!!
      This show now is 2nd to last in the ratings on Monday at 8pm, with only like 5 million viewers and doing poor in the 18-49 demo (sadly this is average for an NBC show).
      If NBC has a decent show to replace it mid or next season I would say the who cast is going to die of cancellation. I still watch it but only after most other shows on my DVR,

      Michael Ausiello wrote about this a couple days ago in his 'blind item' article for Entertainment Weekly. He stated that "A male series regular on a one-hour drama — a onetime ratings powerhouse — learned that he was out of a job only after reading his character’s death scene in the script." Now that I know it's definitely Heroes he's talking about, my guess is its Nathan.
