Cheryl Cole is slated to perform for the X Factor this weekend, debuting her first solo single.
There's only one problem: some people seem to think that Cheryl plans to "mime" her performance by relying on pre-recorded vocals to the new song Fight For This Love, while others say that that is ridiculous - like Cheryl!
Only moments after an insider suggested that Cheryl would be lip-syching her way through her performance, Cheryl came out swinging, denying the allegations fervently! She clarified that she would be pre-recording the segment, due to the live format the show works in, but her singing will still be live!
She was quoted saying: "I really don't see the problem. I will be singing live. I just won't have time to get changed and get prepared for the performance, and be a judge on the show. It would be too hectic."
Understandable. You've got a lot on your plate their Cheryl. And we really don't think she would lip-synch.
We can't say the same of the show's other guest on Sunday- Whitney Houston.

Pre-recording a segment still means not singing live. Everybody knows this bitch can't sing so this isn't a huge surprise. When it's pre-recorded it means the segment can altered to an inch of its life. It sure as hell won't give her the credibility she so desperately wants.
Perez that was one of the most idiotic comments you've ever made. Even when Whitney Houston sounds terrible (like on GMA) she ALWAYS sings live. That can't be said for most of the other divas. Whitney at reduced power is still far better then 98% of the top singers out there!

Um…I'm from North America, and I definitly consider Cheryl Cole a celebrity. Just because someone isn't from America, doesn't make them less of a celebrity. I dare you to Google her.
ANYWAYS. I have faith in Cheryl, so hopefully she won't lip sync…I guess we'll find out soon enough. Though now with these acusations, even if she was going to, she may have to re-think that plan as all the media is waiting to see and scrutinize her performance. What I don't understand is she performed "The Promise" with Girls Aloud on the X Factor last year, seemingly without much trouble. Why would she feel she needs to pre-record this time around? Maybe she learned from last years performance and thought it would be much better to pre-record this time around? Giving her the benefit of the doubt here…

Whitney Houston NEVER lip-synchs. She's only done it a few times throughout her ENTIRE career (and those times she was REQUIRED to do it). She's a "REAL" live singer/performer. That's what I respect most about her. Unlike other "divas" (Mariah Carey being the most obvious)…

Also The Guinness Book of World Records lists them as the "most successful reality T.V group" of all time.

If Whitney did lip sinc (which she never does) you would be all over her. I am surprised you are not supporting her and her willingness to perform even when she is not at her best. Seems like these other so called "divas" always pretend to sing live with some altered track of their current "single". Just a bit ago Whitney was being bashed for canceling performances. She said it was because people always expected perfection from her. How right she was. Give the woman a break.
For the record, there is a difference between a pre-recorded performance and miming. She's only recording it 5 minutes before the show airs and singing live. There's nothing wrong with that.
Cheryl Cole CAN'T SING. She is very beautiful, and that seems to mesmerize people into believing that she can sing. Her recording voice is fully DIGITALLY ENHANCED. And as for all the chart successes mentioned, that is true only for the UK, and is internationally irrelevant. She will never be able to measure up with all the SUPERIOR singers in the US.( I am British ha!) And how can anybody mention Cheryl Cole in the same breath as Whitney Houston? Musically they are world's apart.

she isnt a very good live singer but she always sings live which i respect her for. i think britney is the only person to mime throughout an x factor performance which when compared to the contestants performances was embarrassing for her. i dont see the problem with her doing this, do they expect her to get up, change, get ready to perform in a 5 minute break then get back to judgin 30 seconds later in her previous outfit?
