Balloon Boy Is Alive!
Filed under: Etc.He's found - and he's home!
He had untethered the balloon and then was hiding in a box in the attic, afraid he'd get in trouble.
It's good that he was found alive. Now it's time for him to get in trouble!!!!!

Someone's gettin' an ASS WHOOPIN!!
Thank goodness he's ok, that would have been such a tragedy!
someones gona be in trouble
WHO CARES IF ANYONE WAS LYING!? They're little kids. Just be happy he's alive and unscathed. Focus on that. He was scared he was going to get into trouble and ran and hid. DUH. HE'S ALIVE! yayay!
SOMEONE's gonna get a whooping tonight.
Thank goodness he's okay though.
Apparently no one was lying, someone was hiding In the attic, cuz little boy knew he was in BIIIG trouble!!
1. Thank God and 2. wtf?!?
Yup! and I think it was the parents!
So will his parents have to pay back the cost of the search?
1. either this was all fake
2. the kid's parents are the dumbest idiots alive
3. both
No one was really lying. They didn't know he was in the box.
Good thing he was found D:
more info please?
The media is soo dumb…
And that little 'joke' wasn't funny.
I work just two blocks from this. No one was lying. He was hiding in the attic because he was scared shitless. Remember, he's only six years old.
These parents were doing it for publicity and it sucks. As a mom watching this on TV brings soooo many emotions. If they parents did this on purpose, they should go to jail!
I want a real UFO!
wtf ???? why do people have to make up stupid shit. i will say this though , i would rather it be a hoax than an actual fact . my god i was shocked to think a parent in there right mind to do something like that.
i hope the parents go to jail… for having dangerous stuff like that in there home… and the kid he needs a good spanking ….
THEY WERE LYING?! OH MY GOD. SO I WAS FREAKING OUT FOR NOTHING?
DCF needs to investigate how something like this could happen. that family is wack.
lol.
wow.
3 cheers for Balloon Boy!!
Love how this post changed. you can't escape how bullshit you sound.
o.deee that wasnt neven cute!
why should he get in trouble? I think he should be loved and hugged
Thanks God he is fine and alive. I guess everything was a mistake. But what matters the most now is that the kid is fine and with his family. I don't think it was something planned or somebody was lying on purpose.
Deja de ser venenoso Perez!
Scam. I think that the parents who just "happened" to be alumni of wifeswap did this as a publicity stunt. If I'm correct then those parents are scum.
YOU WOULD MAKE A TERRIBLE FATHER…LETS HOPE U DONT HAVE KIDS EVERRR
??????!!!
This hasn't been confirmed Perez
That kid's lucky he's from the midwest and has hippie parents. He'll probably get a timeout and lose his pudding cup from dinner for a week. If he was from around here he'd get a paddlin' so hard that his grandchildren would be born yelling "OUCH!"
i hope the stupid parents get arrested!!!!!!!!
Re: PixieCullen – I think both.
now its time to get in trouble! of course! fuckind kid.. everybody was alarm…kick his ass!
this is the funniest shit i have ever heard! OMG … i feel a Lifetime movie comin out of this story
Oh thank goodness!!!!
How long was hiding for?
OMG! I AM SO HAPPY!
YEAH!!!!!
Re: Patricksmummy – YA THINK! YES!
This kid's dad is a "free lance scientist" and probably set this whole thing up to get his name and his inventions out in the public eye. He probably knew where his kid was the whole time. This was a totally publicity scam from his ridiculous father
Re: Louweezy – Re: audiocolor –
His older brother said he saw him get in and float away, that's called a lie
Re: adamville –
Yes, it has been confirmed.
why should her be in trouble i don't think a ballon that could fly thousands of feet in the air should be in the access of a child the parents are the ones who need an ass whopping
Time for some good old fashioned corporal punishment if you ask me.
damn kids
This family was that wierd family that was on wife swap… they have been trying to get publicity forever. Child Protective Services need to go check out that house and both of these ridiculous "parents" need to go to jail
it was a publicity stunt.
thank god he is okay i was beginning to think his parents killed him and usedthe balloon story as a cover up…. what a little sh*t!!! LOL
It HAS to be a publicity stunt. 9News Denver has confirmed that the very first call the father made was to 9News, not the police. Why would you call a news channel before contacting the police? Things are not adding up, like why the parents never mentioned that the "basket" was not on the balloon thing. Hmmm…weird crazy people in FtCo, damn hippies.
This family was on Wife Swap… crazy people!
the dumbest thing i have ever heard. throw the parents to jail. they had their time to shine and it was by embarrassing them on "wife swap"..now this? pathetic people, stupid children and sad that i actually felt sorry for the kid.
¿No quería caldo? ¡Toma dos tazas! jajaja
Look guys - for those claiming hoax… do you even KNOW children? You think a 6 year old would sit - under direction - alone, in a box? I mean think about it. HOURS this kid was thinking he was in trouble. With all the commotion around him at the time, you think a 6 year old who was told to "stay there" would have done so? With all those people shouting his name, you probably couldn't threaten a kid enough to keep them like that unless they thought they were in trouble. Sounds more to me, like the older brothers ended up with the made up story so THEY wouldn't get in trouble either.
those parents should NOT go to jail! For everyone saying that I'm sure you don't have children. The balloon was NEVER intended for anybody to go into. "They should go to jail for having dangerous things in their home". WTF EVERYONE has dangerous things in their home. HE'S SIX! Everything can be dangerous to a 6yr old if you want to play that card. It was a FAMILY PROJECT. NOTHING the dad and mom built on their own. They should be able to be happy that their son is alive and well and that's that. No one is at fault except for Falcon (the little boy) and even at that he's 6. What are you going to do put him in jail for being a curious 6yr old?
HA!
Re: xxstar21xx – well said. totally agree
I am not a scientist….but watching the balloon fyling around made me think "would this thing have really taken off with the weight of a kid inside??? I don't think so. With that said…..the parents knew it wouldn't take off with that kind of weight inside and therefore, didn't even think of the possibility their son would "fly away" with it. How about the parents of kids who have pools? Are they irresponsible??? Kids do strange and dumb things. I hate reading about all these people who think it's the parents fault. Shit happens! Just glad the kid is alive and well.
When I found out he was hiding the whole time, I sighed a sigh of relief, having almost cried at my desk imaging a 6 year old floating into the air and then falling out or whatever might've happened…how frightened he must've been. So thank god he's okay. nowwwwwwwwww let the ass whooping begin from his parents.
They should reimburse the authorities who wasted their time searching for this kid. If they chose to have such dangerous things around their home, then they should be under lock and key when you've got inquisitive little kids around. If the child HAD gone up in that thing he'd most likely be dead now - IRRESPONSIBLE!!!
I have to agree that I find the whole story a bit weird - I mean how many six yr old boys do you know can have the patience to hide in a box for that long?? I sure don't know any!
its time for you to drop off the planet. How can you even think of saying stuff like that? just be happy that the boy was found. If it was your child, would you want to make the boys life more of a living hell? he is already scared out of his wits. Perez aka Mario, sometime I wonder why you have no heart. you diss all these stars and you dont even look at your damn self. Why dont you look in the mirror before you start making other people sound like asses?
Maybe you guys dont understand the extreme misuse of government resources in Denver today. Everyone that had real emergencies didn't get helped today because some jacka** left a dangerous "invention" in a place where his young child could play with it. Whether it was a publicity stunt or an extreme lack of responsibile parenting, it really doesnt matter. Law enforcement, EMTs, and a lot of other people spent an entire afternoon chasing a balloon through the sky instead of answering real emergencies. Besides that, power had to be cut to the power lines in the area so that if the balloon hit them, it wouldnt be electrocuted or fry the entire system. Do you understand how much money, time, and resources was spent on this ignorant family? I am not talking about the little boy. This story is a case of ridiculous irresponsible adults who never should have brought children into this world if they didnt understand the responsibility that came with them. Let him be Bill Nye off by himself by himself where nobody can be hurt. What a fool.
Glad the kids ok
Mr. Heene, how come you can afford to build a balloon of this sort but can't afford to pay us the money you owe us from the car accident in 2006 in CA - where you were driving uninsured leaving us to foot the bill to fix our car. We've been kind and patient with you and have even offered to let you pay us back in payments, but you haven't. We could really use the money.
Sincerely, the Garcia Family.
time for a spanking TO THE EXTREME
THIS WAS ALL A SCHEME TO GET ON T.V.
HELLO THE PARENTS WERE ALREADY ON WIFE SWAP!!!
WHAT's NEXT…….a REALITY SHOW FOR THE FAMILY OF THE BALLOON BOY.
On a sweeter note…i am glad the boy is alive and okay but the parents should have known where their son was after a hour or so.
where the eff were his parents in all of this?
Oh my gosh! I can't believe it…how bizarre, but I am so glad he's okay.
Re: sillyputti –
hamming it up for the cameras
He needs his AASSSS whooped for that little stunt. Do you know how much money the state lost looking for that kid not to forget that real emergencys were taking place while his little ass was taking a nap. Bay Bay kid
Re: Leshreve – He was hiding for a few HOURS. What I don't understand is why the parents weren't watching him any better than they were. I have 3 kids (ages 11, 7 1/2, and 6) and I know where they are at all times. Especially when they are outside. Would you let several hours go by before you started to panic? I know I wouldn't even let 2 minutes go by before I would start panicing. There wouldn't be a space or room (including the attic) that I wouldn't check. And how was the child able to get up in the attic anyways?!?!?!?!?!?
Re: Nostradamus – I agree with ya! If my kids would have done some bullshit like that, they definitely would get a spanking! I don't know who needs a harder spanking, the kid, for hiding for so long or the dad, for having something that dangerous accessible to small kids. The helium gas is dangerous on it's own (being flammable). What if the kids were in it and it popped? He would be "wrapped up" in that material and suffocate or splat when he hit the ground. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PARENTS?!?!?!?
