Billy Mays New Autopsy Says Cocaine NOT A Factor In His Death

Okay, we guess we take it back!
Billy Mays' widow Deborah Mays did not believe the medical examiner's report that cocaine contributed to her husband's death and she was right!
After a second investigation by independent medical examiner Dr. William L. Manion he found that:
"Chronic cocaine use was not demonstrated by the autopsy findings of Mr. William Mays. In addition, there is nothing in his medical, social or professional history to suggest chronic cocaine use.
Therefore, I do not believe cocaine played a significant contributing factor in the death of Mr. Mays as the autopsy specimens and findings are not consistent with the cardiac conditions normally observed in a person chronically using cocaine."
Something seems off, though. How could the first medical examiner make such a big mistake?
And this new guy is an "independent" medical examiner?

There's probably a life-insurance policy or something in his name, wanting to be cashed out by the family, which probably wouldn't be possible if the cause was cocaine use. Somethin' ain't stirrin' the Kool-Aid.

"Independant" meaning anyone who will find in the Widow's favor to settle on what I am sure was a substantial Life Insurance Policy that likely made mention of intentional drug use causing death, would then cancel the policy.
It says they did not find any evidence that he was a "chronic cocaine user". That doesn't mean cocaine use didn't contribute to his death, just that he didn't appear to be a "chronic user". An occasional user can overdose or have a heart attack due to it same as someone who uses it all the time.
It doesn't contradict the original statement at all.
"Independant" (or privately paid for opinion) is likely being sought to fight an Insurance company's refusal to pay based on the initial autopsy report.

Please…a lot of life insurance companies will not pay out if a person dies as a result of drug or alcohol related deaths. Think Health Ledger. The death had to be ruled accidental before the insurance company paid his estate. Same here. His wife needed a report that said he did not die as a result of using cocaine. She paid for and got one.
Chronic use & occasional use are 2 different things,though. He didn't have evidence of CHRONIC use,but it was found,in his blood,by the other examiner.
It doesn't mean he NEVER did it,it just means it wasn't all the time.
I'm sure we'll never know the truth. I feel bad for his family.
I hope Billy can now RIP and his family can start to move ahead.

You're not reading carefully, Mario. This examiner NEVER mentions he did not use cocaine, just that cocaine was not a factor in his death. This is also what the first examiner found, that there was cocaine in his system, but NEVER mentions cocaine caused his death. The second examiner was hired by the family to spin. The evidence is that Mays was a social cocaine user, not an addict or heavy user.
Chronic doesn't mean he didn't do it….it just means that he didn't do it "a lot"…Which means he might have done it, combined with his heart problems, and that's what killed him…. Watch Dr. G….. I always hoped it wasn't true, but this second opinion doesn't make me think it's not….darn it….
