Did the movie roles dry up or is she looking for some artistic integrity?!
Keira Knightley will make her West End stage debut in a 3-month run of Molière's The Misanthrope at the Comedy theater.
The farce, set to open December 17th, will star Keira as an ambitious American film star who is the love of the title character, the "misanthrope" Alcestea, played by Damian Lewis.
Alceste is bitter and furious with the hypocrisy and vanity of the contemporary world - in this version, the usual surroundings of 17th-century Paris have been moved to present-day London. In his attempt to reject society, he falls in love with Jennifer, the toast of the social scene.
Although she may be a little slight for the stage, we thing she can pull it off!
Especially since she's playing herself!

Golly, I don't know! If only there was some sort of database of movies on the internet that we could look at to find all these things out. What's that? There is? And she has three movies ready to come out next year, one being made right now, and one in pre-production? Wow, fatass! It's a good thing I have l33t hax0r access to all those hidden places on the interwebs, or I'd never be able to fill you in on all that impossible-to-find information out there. (And before you start getting wood, when I say "fill you in" I mean "tell you things." Not the butt way.

keira grew up around the stage so its only natural shed want to give it a go and i think shell be great, why is there always a stigma when a successful film actress/actor does stage work? . . .
although she could use a few extra punds keira is a great role-model to young girls and boys, she makes movies for the movies not the fame L)

…however, you are off the mark on this one. Keira is a pretty young woman - and not much else. She is a horrendous actress, truly painful to watch. She made it big through the soccer movie (in which she acted poorly and was NOT the lead) and then was in the Pirate movies (a role that any pair of tits could have played, Johnny Depp was rightly the reason those movies were a success) - after that what is there? A bunch of trite British films no one cares about and 'Domino' (golf claps)

Re: alfabravo – Wrong. She's a great actress. See Pride and Prejudice, Atonement, The Duchess, and The Hole. All demonstrating this young ladies great talent. She's not Meryl Streep or anything but she's got real talent that continues to improve.

She has a certain affected style that I will agree can drive you crazy (my girlfriend *screams* when I watch something with her in it), but I think she's one of those actresses who's really good just as long as you don't hate her. Let's just put her in the category of people like Julia Roberts and Hilary Swank and all of those other people who either make you think "Oscar, baby!" or "What the hell is she doing up there?"
Oh, also, she gets a lifetime pass for me just for her few minutes in "Love Actually." Absolute perfection.
The fabric looks retro. I love that outfit. Keira is a very good actress, a bit too thin but it seems to work for her.

i have defended her body image for quite some time but in this pic she is a true bobblehead. and perez, keira will never, ever have to worry about being in films. she is a truly talented performer and she will excel at whatever she does. she is without a doubt one of the most sought after actresses. full stop. and she will entice and mesmerize theater audiences and garner rave reviews.
With all due respect, nobody can BE Ms. Hepburn. And Ms. Knightley, I'm sure, wouldn't want to be compared to someone else; she's is in a class of her own.

Ever since I divulged to Keira that the "kiss" scene in Pirates is really proof that Orlando is a super-duper-extra-great kisser, she has been listening to me. Why, just this morning I suggested that the true actors and actresses should return to the stage where they actually get to do something besides pose in nice clothes and kiss people. Christopher Plummer is back in Stratford, too!!
Keep it up Keira!! YOU are wonderful and I won't mind at all. In fact, I would love to have a cuppa with you…..
