Brooklyn To Follow In Dad David Beckham's Footsteps?

Well kinda!

Apparently Brooklyn Beckham, the oldest son of David and Victoria Beckham, has taken a shine to American football!

Brooklyn made quite the impression on his coaches at school and has been chosen to play for the Los Angeles Cougars league because he's a "natural thrower and hard tackler." Posh even carries pictures of her 10-year-old son in his uniform because she's so proud.

A friend of the family says of Brooklyn:

"The boy has just taken his natural sporting ability and adapted to America. He can play in any position and can throw and tackle hard. Like his dad, he's fearless with an incredible work rate."

But supposedly David would prefer if Brooklyn pursued soccer because he thinks he has the potential to go pro in the sport just like his papa.

There's even been talk of Brooklyn going to a trial at the Tottenham's Football School of Excellence in 2010, where David started before joining Manchester United.

Sounds like Brooklyn is just an all-around natural athlete! Is anyone surprised?

I think you're about 24 hours late on all your gossip/news and at least 2 years behind on music.

    4. 4

i wonder what its like to be a celeb child…

    5. 5

HAH I doubt it. I doubt he'll be big in any sport. Blatant favoritism

    6. 6

Let's hope Brooklyn (WTF kind of name is that for a child??) develops into a better American football player than his second-rate soccer player Father, David.

Beckham was neither fearless nor had an incredible work rate as a player
      -
he was a steady and creative midfielder who had an uncanny skill with set piece plays. However, he was not strong on the ball and was criticized his entire career for having poor pace. When he was playing poorly he would become petulant and would commit foolish fouls

It'd be cool to see him play soccer - and be even bigger than his daddy! LMAO.

    10. 10

      1. Who names a kid Brooklyn?! 2. He looks just like his dad and 3. I'm not surprised he's athletic.

    11. 11

That's cool but given the size of his parents there is no way he will ever play professional American football when he grows up, so it's cute for now but later he might choose soccer.

    12. 12

SO sick of this family! He plays soccer but the entire family don't contribute ANYTHING to society!

    13. 13

U.S. "football" is a vile sport. Soccer, please. For all of us. No shoulder pads or helmets, no giant linebackers causing hundreds of concussions.

Soccer should be the only football.

why complain about the name Brooklyn? good lord, it's better than Sparrow.

    14. 14

      AWWWWWWW!

    15. 15

Hello STUPID ASSES. Beckham does NOT play AMERICAN football. He is a soccer player. Get the headline right. Beckham would get slaughtered in the NFL. He weighs 150 LBS.

    16. 16

IGNORANCE much are we??! Beckham IS one of the fearless footballers in his generation and he IS one of the most hardworking footballers ever existed! Clearly you have NEVER known about David "Goldenballs" Beckham only until he came to USA. And then you just believe what the US/UK press written about him after he moved there WITHOUT ever watching him in a game or following his works/life since the beginning for a minute!

And you said he is a mediocare player with just one skills without hardwoking attitude and fearfull from the the oppositions toward him and he is weak player? What a total, utter ignorance you are!!!

    23. 23

OH, brother . The school just wants to visit with the parents. How stupid can these people be?

i dont believe he is this talented he is just david beckham's son so he gets ahead in life but if he is more power to ya kiddo!

      Re: contrarianchick
So you like the kind of "football" where players constantly fake injuries and cry like babies for calls?
No thanks, I like the sport where men are men, where human athleticism is celebrated at it's best, and when they get injured they suck it up, like real men, instead of rolling around on the ground whining like little bitches.
The NFL is the best realm of athleticism in the world.

Check out the England world cup song 2010 on youtube called

    29. 29

American football certainly takes less skill. But if that what he likes, hope it works out for him.

Re: Nostradamus – American footballers "real men" ?? don't make me laugh - If you want to see real men watch English Rugby which is American Football without any padding or helmets or visors (let's face it you had to get the idea from somwhere) just shorts, rugby shirts long socks and boots… players have broken noses cauliflower ears - missing teeth… you name it they've injured it…don't see any of that on your lot so what they are supposed to be sucking up on the pitch God only knows…real men what a joke!!

    31. 31

Following in dad's footsteps? You mean he's going to marry a skinny, no-talent skank with huge fake boobs?

    32. 32

david is HOT! N BROOKLYN IS CUTE!

    33. 33

      Re: cattsa
Yeah, I know what rugby is, thanks for explaining the concept.
According to your logic, cage fighting would be the best sport
I don't care about rugby, and neither does the rest of the world
the Super Bowl gets the highest ratings IN THE WORLD

      Re: Nostradamus
You'll find that the World Cup Final, or even the Euro Final both pull in more ratings than Superbowl. Infact, Superbowl is number 5 on the list.

      1. World Cup Final
      2. Euro Final
      3. Olympics Opening Ceremony
      4. Olympics Closing Ceremony
      5. Superbowl.

      Nice try though. Case closed

Don't call other people out when you clearly don't watch either. Becks is skilled and is a good footballer yeah, but he is the furthest from being fearless and hardworking, and that's not something he strives to be.

He backs out of tackles, and is lazy as get out. He never tracks back, he just floats around and can't be bothered unless he has the ball.

At United he had Roy Keane, and at Milan he had Massimo Ambrosini to do his dirty work for him so he was free to become more creative, and these 2 clubs is where he has played his best football.
