The TLC lawsuit could cost Jon every cent he's made from media appearances over the past few months because he was in serious violation of his contract with the network.
The contract had a very clear-cut exclusivity clause which Jon has clearly strayed from and all of those paychecks are going to really cost him now!
The contract is valid until February 2010 and TLC even has the option to renew the contract once February rolls around essentially keeping him from pursuinghis "career" in television.
Not only is he in the doghouse because of the appearances, but also because he's been badmouthing TLC like crazy! TLC is seeking punitive damages against him and if TLC wins the lawsuit, Jon could be responsible for the network's attorney fees.
His hard-pAArtying ways could be brought up in the lawsuit, too. TLC is convinced Jon's behavior and comments have severely damaged the company's reputation.
Basically they are suing him for being the biggest jackass he could possibly be!
Huzzah! It's about time Jon faced the music!

Oh Jon~ You are going to waste all your kids hard earned money on a lawsuit! TLC probably has a massive team behind them and lawyers on retainer, and Jon has a lawyer who has clearly been cited for ethics violations in the past. All the lawyer wants is the money, and boy, is he gonna get it!!! Jon is really, really, really dim. He just doesn't get it! SO sad to watch this disaster happen. No wonder Kate had to treat him like a child- he has no impulse control whatsoever. I wonder if Mady can start getting paid to babysit him soon?

I think the network has a case, he really did damage their reputation. People associated TLC with their dirty drag out divorce rather then the show it was on their tv. TLC basically showed the kids playing, its a neat show actually it wasn't like some celebrity fantasy island show.

I thought that the kids were the "stars", Jon wanted out long ago. It is documented that Kate wanted to continue, and since they are "her kids" allow her to continue to their "wishes" and let him do what he wants. He has turned into an ass, but TLC should have nipped the on-air stuff in the bud, instead of turning into an onscreen battle between a couple in a turmoil too many of us know, but to flaunt it without consideration to the kids is a travesty. They are going to see everything that their parents have done and need extensive therapy and support. Team Cara, Mady, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel.

Actually, when Kate effectively kicked him out of the house, that was also very likely a violation of contract, and potentially put the contract on hold until regulated.
TLC is just upset because Jon has basically pissed on their feet and exposed their scams. They are only suing so that he might not push the child abuse issue, which could cost TLC their entire network.
THEN KATE IS GUILTY, TOO. Hope they both lose all their money and get back to work and take responsibility for what they chose to do by having 8 kids. THESE PEOPLE ARE LOSERS and that includes TLC - the loser chanel

The suit says Jon's attorney contacted them the same day they announced they would re-launch the show in November as Kate Plus 8 and focus it on Kate's life as a single mom. The suit says TLC only made the announcement after an unsuccessful attempt to discuss the matter with Jon.
"(Jon) Gosselin's counsel stated that if this release was not forthcoming within one hour's time, defendant Gosselin would reverse his often repeated public comments to the contrary and publicly object to further filming of the program on the ground that it is purportedly detrimental to his children," the suit alleges. "When (TLC) declined to provide the release, Defendant Gosselin followed through on his threat and thereafter notified TLC that he would attempt to bar TLC's further access to the family property and further filming of his children."
Mark Heller, Jon's attorney, calls the allegations "weak, feeble and baseless" and says the contract violated Jon's First Amendment rights. "Discovery and TLC has treated Jon Gosselin like a dog by attempting to keep him on a leash and muzzle him and deny the father of eight an opportunity to earn a livelihood to support his family," he says.

I'm thinking TLC is just making themselves look very bad - as in, kicking a guy when he's down; if you won't be a slave to our network and make nice we'll make sure your career in 'this town' is over. I've stopped watching everything on TLC.
I'm also worried - really truly worried- about Jon's emotional stability now. He could try to harm himself. Or succeed. Or turn to make even more errors in judgement - any and all of which will make those kids suffer unfairly.

This has been a long time coming. In the past, I have seen how fast TLC (and its related channels) fired their hosts for misconduct and jeopardizing the network’s reputation many times before. And those shows weren’t even dealing with children.
