Beyonce Postpones Malaysia Show; Conservative Muslims Find Her "Immoral"
We've called her a lot of things, but we would never suggest that she lacks morality!
Beyonce had a show slated for Malaysia next week, but has now postponed the show, allegedly because of Islamic extremist criticism of her performing style. Due to her "provocative clothes and choreography", conservatives of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party think that the show would be "immoral" and should be cancelled because it would promote "Western sexy performances."
Though the event promoters would not confirm if the postponement was in response to these statements, they did confirm that the show would be rescheduled for a " future date to be announced shortly." Whether that will come to pass or not will soon be seen.
But if Avril Lavigne and Gwen Stefani can make it work in Malaysia, than surely B can too!

Why is it that anyone who believes in modesty is considered "extremist"??? It is immoral to dress half-naked and shake your ass and boobs on a stage in front of thousands of people. Malaysia is obviously a country with VALUES, unlike the United States (where nothing seems to be considered immoral anymore), and I agree that Beyonce should either COVER UP or stay out!!!

So much for being a multi-cultural country. Malaysia is an Islamic state, but calls itself multi-cultural as there are buddhists, taoists, hindus, and all kinds of different religions that are "supposed" to be able to pracitse their religions, and live freely in all aspects of society unlike in other Islamic states. There is one set of laws for Muslims, and another set for other religions. However, actions like these, if you ask me, show that they are NOT infact, willing to allow the non-muslim members of their society to live in a way where they can choose what they watch for entertainment, but that EVERYONE in Malaysia is suject to live under a basic Muslim belief system. Small victories like the will result in Malaysia losing it's all - accepting Multi - Cultural tag. A TRULY multi-cultural SE Asian country, in my belief, is Singapore. Beautiful, free, and welcoming to all. This coming from and Australian with a European background

Take Bosnia and Kosovo for example, and what they're trying to do in Tetovo, and various small provinces in Russia. They HAVE the same rights as other people in these regions, to get education in schools, to have their mosques, to wear their islamic dress, and then that's STILL NOT ENOUGH. They disturb peaceful countries by taking over entire villages and then launching militant attacks on the original inhabitants, forcing them out of their homes, and then they cry discrimination so the governments of these countries can be bent over by the international community and forced into giving them their own "independent states" in the interest of regional peace and stability.

Children at school in Australia can't say "merry christmas" anymore, as it's apparently offensive to muslim students. I am not a catholic or any other religion that celebrates christmas as the 25th of december. I am orthodox. Christmas is celebrated on the 7th of January. When my parents and grandparents migrated here, they made all efforts to FIT IN. And why? Because they were thankful that they were in a country where they were freely allowed and encouraged to speak their own language. To build their own orthodox churches. To follow their religion. To get an education regardless of their age, race, or religion. When someone says Merry christmas to them on the 25th of dec, they say the same, or thankyou. They put up christmas trees and gave gifts to the children of the family to make sure they didn't feel left out, and as an homage to the country that provided them freedom and opportunity.
