Starting next Monday, the youths of the U.K. will get a channel all there own from MTV.

Viva will be an entire channel devoted to the programming of the young demographic. Shows like The Hills and South Park will make up the line-up for the station, as well as videos from faves like Lady Gaga.

The channel has already done fairly well in other localized markets such as Austria, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Switzerland.

Are you ready for your "new' MTV, Brits?

here in Poland we have "Viva" channel since 2000 year and I think this is the best music station here, on MTV we have music only during 3 hours a day, they still airing "date my mom" "pimp my ride" tec….so MTV is no longer music station….

but on VIVA Poland you have Lady GaGa, Shakira, BEP, P!nk, Madonna, this is the best POP Music station, ;) cheers from Europe :)

That's great… but what about the US? They have channels here, but none with teen inspired shows. Bring back Daria and I'm all for Viva America!

MTV isn't the only one coming up with a new channel!

Armani Exchange has its own AXTV in which they include behind the scenes exclusives with their models, latest DJs and their creative team on upcoming looks

so if you want to stay in the know check out their TV site:

A more appropriate name would have been FRTV - Fake "Reality" Television - since that's all it is anymore. MTV is a joke and is one channel I refuse to have on in my house. Id rather watch golfing that have to see Heidi Montag try to act.

I got a new concept for MTV to consider: start airing music videos on their channels. It's like a totally new concept which their viewers will enjoy!

Wish We had it here in the U.S.! We are always stuck with crap. La Roux is THEE best, and what do we get? Shakira walking around in a giant vagina singing about a "she-wolf" while having seizures (she thinks it's dancing). And that damned Green Day. The UK has always had better music and more interesting TV than we do.

Re: misscheriamor – you've had enough television shows that we don't even get over here so i think us getting this channel is great but no america you've had enough great tv and not shared a lot of it.
      you've had enough

    23. 23

#6, did you really correct his spelling and then write "dewsh?"

    24. 24

pointless, there are already a million mtv channels

Mcfly, Mcfly! First of all Shakira is not a U.S. artist but a Columbian artist, there is a difference shit-head (literally in your case). I am not quite ready to out of hand dismiss U.S. artistry like you apparently are. It is so ignorant of you to ignore America's impact on R&B music,hip-hop, and country, so easily. Britian is to be admired for embracing new musical talent more readily and introduce them to the world. Also sounds like the state of Music TV over there may be marginally better.
I would like a 24 hour music channel like in the old days I have heard so much about.
Even when I want to agree with you I can't get past the perversions I know of and have heard about you. No surprise you mentioned Green Day, as Dookie I hear is something you are fond of the smell, texture, and taste of.
