Obama Makes Legal Stoners Happy
It's a good day to be a stoner, that is if you live in one of the 14 states that allows the wacky tabacky to be prescribed for medical reasons.
On Monday the Obama administration issued new guidelines for arresting those who are both legally selling and buying the drug.
Is this how the Nobel Peace Prize winner is using his new found status, by lighting up a peace pipe???
The new policy tells prosecutors to stop wasting their time going after those in compliance with the state law, specifically those providing or using medical marijuana.
We agree.
They can use their time to go after boys trapped in balloons. That's a much better use of tax payer money.
The 3 page long memo urges the prosecutors in the 14 states allowing medical marijuana and to top officials at the FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration to go after marijuana cases that involve violence, the illegal use of firearms, selling pot to minors, money laundering or involvement in other crimes.
While the DEA and FBI may be upset about the new policy, medical marijuana advocates are excited that the Prez has kept his word on changing the policy.
Bruce Mirken of the Marijuana Policy Project says the change "moves the federal government dramatically toward respecting scientific and practical reality."
Could this be a step to legalize weed???
We're sure policy makers will fight that to the death, but in the meantime roll up a fat one and pass it around!

This is legislation which is designed to protect people from being arrested for doing something that is legal. Medical marijuana is legal, but people producing and using with the proper permits where still subject to prosecution.
this continues to me my number one political interest, because if it can be truly legalized, the policy makers wont care they just have to change their policy. but the pharmaceutical companies will throw a fit!! people may lose jobs, and the certain prescriptions that people have been living off off "legally" are now second rate to a better cleaner and safer medicine that the planet gave to us! i say there is much much more to this than obama himself, and if anything is gonna happen it will be at the end of his term i believe. but all we can do is hope, and continue the good fight, be an advocate! support local growers and farmers! buy a vaporizer! smoke dank! live the dream!

1. If weed is illegal alcohol should be too! Being high would never cause someone to, black out, overdose, drive recklessly.
2. Most of the problems with drugs in this country are stemmed from poverty, why aren't we working to help these people rather than just putting them in jail?
The reason big pharm wants marijuana to remain illegal is because it is cheaper and has fewer side effects than many prescription drugs. I am saying this as someone who works in health care, not as someone who uses marijuana either medicinally or otherwise. I am pro legalization across the board, but certainly pro medical legalization.

Before i started smoking i had to take so many pills and the side effects were as bad as what they were suppose to be treating.
