To the surprise and delight of the studio, Where The Wild Things Are took the #1 spot at the box office this weekend. The kid's book turn film geared mainly for adults, raked in an impressive $32.4 million dollars this weekend, beating out Law Abiding Citizen starring Jamie Foxx and Gerard Butler and Paranormal Activity.

We heard decent things about all these movies.

What did U see this weekend?

    5. 5

Loved it! Great for all ages. Reminds you how your imagination can take you anywhere.

    6. 6

      It's a surprise?

    7. 7

never heard of it and jamie foxx is a racist pig, i'd never watch or listen to anything w/ him it ever again…..
      p. activity looks like every other shitty horror film made in the 2000's……

    8. 8

I saw PARANORMAL ACTIVITY this weekend and I enjoyed it more than anything I've seen in a very long time. I highly suggest you see this movie. I'm not easy to scare, but PA really shook me up from beginning to end.

    9. 9

      I saw my eye lids…

If you didn't see this movie, you had no childhood.

    12. 12

I saw Law Abiding Citizen and Where The Wild Things Are. WTWTA was one of my favorite books when I was young, but Law Abiding Citizen was light years better.

    13. 13

Law Abiding Citizen was really good.

    14. 14

Paranormal Activity was the least scary movie in history. Our entire audience laughed and made fun of it after. You have to have the world's largest vajayjay to get scared at it. Disney Pixar has made scarier movies.

    15. 15

Eh it was an alright movie =\

    16. 16

I saw that I though it was really good. I actually found myself laughing at a few parts. I think Carol is cool and i would have loved to be able to sleep in their pile. And if you ask me I would probably give it 5 stars. :)

    17. 17

I saw it and loved it. Yeah I'm old and I have kids. It was by far one of the best kids movies I have seen in a while. Adults will love it.

      I laughed, I cried, I loved it!

    19. 19

What? Law Abiding Citizen has gotten terrible reviews. It has a 24% on rotten tomatoes.

    20. 20

I saw paranormal Activity and it was a big dissapointment. All the hype about it and it was not what I expected at all.

    21. 21

paranormal activity– throughout the whole movie it was very slow and not really scary. towrds the end of it, the pace was much faster and the very end scared the shit out of me. whenever im alone or with the lights off i get so scared now.

law abiding citizen–very grusome, very suspenseful, jamie foxx and gerard butler were AMAZING in this. the entire movie was so unpredictable which made it that much better.. i couldnt figure out how it would end. i definitely recommend this movie to everyone!

    22. 22

Can someone please tell me if anyone dies in this movie? I really want to see it, but we have had 2 deaths recently in the family and I don't want to see anything sad - at least for now. Many thanks!

    23. 23

I saw WTWTA and it was freakin weird. Save your money. I loved the book as a kid, but cannot even give you a run-down of what happened in this movie, it was forgettable, bizarre and very mildly entertaining………

Paranormal Activity is worth seeing. You will dread the bed scenes each time they come…bwahahahah

    24. 24

i love the book n the movie was good.

    25. 25

i saw paranormal activity…i laughed. i cried….but i mostly cried becuse that movie was so damn scary

    26. 26

I took my 7 yr old to see Where the Wild Things Are!!! Fantastic movie!!

    27. 27

      I saw Zombieland!!!

    28. 28

I heard "Where The Wild Things Are" AND "Law-Abiding Citizen" were bad. But I heard "Paranormal Activity" was good. Hmmm….

    29. 29

where the wild things are was really good.

probably the best movie of 2009

    30. 30

Saw "where the wild things are" this weekend with my daughter, it was adorable!

    31. 31

i thought all predictions were that Where The Wild Things Are would be #1 … so how is it a surprise?

and having been to a Jamie Foxx party over the summer and experiencing his horrible attitude first hand, i can safely say i will never see or listen to anything involving him again. what a disgusting human being.

    32. 32

for anyone that saw WTWTA this weekend….would it be appropriate for 4 year olds? i heard it was aimed for older kids. I would like to take my 3 and 4 year old boys but I don't want them to get scared

    33. 33

Paranormal Activity was aMaZiNg!! I think people say it isn't scary b/c they are trying to hide it….it was truly freaky….!!!!

    34. 34

Rent THE LIFE AND TIMES OF VIVIENNE VYLE! This British satire skewers mindless media culture as it follows the brazen schemes of Vyle (Jennifer Saunders), daytime talk show host who never met a guest she wouldn't exploit to further her career.

    35. 35

I saw Where the Wild Things Are and i LOVED it!!!

    36. 36

saw WTWTA… meh. Cute, sorta. Not that satisfying though…

    37. 37

Where The Wild Things Are was absolutely awful. People were walking out with their kids. It was gloomy and dull. artsy or not, it was boring and I couldn't wait for it to be over.

    38. 38

I absolutely LOVED WTWTA! so did my 11, 7, and 4 year olds…My youngest who is usually ready to leave halfway through the movie was mesmerized through the whole thing..I def reccomend for any age!

    39. 39

We saw Wild Things and Paranormal this weekend.
Wild Things was interesting. Def not aimed for children. It was a quirky movie.
Paranormal was disappointing. Do NOT buy in to all of the hype about it being so scary and blahblah. It had its creepy parts, but overall, slow and not very scary.

    40. 40

I saw "Paranormal Activity" & "Where The Wild Things Are". Honestly, they were both great films, in their own ways, obviously. I recommend everyone go see "Where The Wild Things Are" first. Then if you have time (and extra money to blow) go see "Paranormal Activity".

    41. 41

The piece of shit called "The Stepfather" finished a distant fifth with a poor outlook ahead. Why we have to endure the adds we do here for the worst products, I have no idea. Could the more credible works keep their distance from this site?

    43. 43

      creepy

    44. 44

yayy! this movie was awesome :)

    45. 45

i loved this movie it was so good!!

    46. 46

This was an awful movie. I think anyone over 2 years old is outside the age range for this movie.

Maybe the people who enjoyed it were getting some free LSD or something. Stretching a 30~ish page picture book into a 2 hour movie was a huge mistake. Wish I had my $20 back.

    47. 47

where the wild things are looks horrible. and those things are fucking ugly.

    48. 48

      Re: YeahYeah26 – o rly?

It was an incredibly long movie, since it was based off a rather short picture book. It was good though.

    51. 51

Ohh. That's sweet. Max is my little sister's friend, he's such a cutie. I'm so proud of him!

    52. 52

I saw 'Paranormal Activity'. I didn't have to sleep with the lights on but I loved it.

    53. 53

Saw WTWTA and HATED IT. Blech. I wanted my money back. Sooooo boring.

    54. 54

      Maybe I should see it.

    55. 55

Paranormal Activity ROCKS! A 'MUST SEE' for the Halloween season!
