The Enquirer is claiming that Elizabeth Edwards has approved of this, but we highly doubt that could be true!
Cheating politician John Edwards has indeed sprung for a mansion just minutes away from his own in Wilmington, North Carolina to house his mistress Rielle Hunter and their love child Frances.
After the DNA test came back positive, John has said he wants to be involved in the baby's life so he's paying $6,550 a month to rent the million dollar home for Rielle and Frances!
Yeah, we're sure Elizabeth is just brimming with happiness at the news that the tramp is moving in next door!

Think progressively, Perez. It should be about the child, now. It doesn't matter how close or far away the 'tramp' is if Edwards and his wife can't learn to trust each other. It does matter how close the mother of Edwards child is if Edwards wants to participate in raising said child. It's a move that should have happened when he 'knew' he'd fathered the child, not when he got 'proof' of it.

This is just the most pathetic excuse of a man I have ever seen! His wife who married him when he was dead broke out of college and helped build his multi million dollar law practice and helped him become Senator and this is how he repays her! Elizabeth is dying of cancer as we speak and I'm sure all this stress in her final days will speed up her time on earth. John is officially a total disgrace of a man! I wish Elizabeth would gather whatever strength she has left and sue him for alienation of affection and all those other obscure laws that you can sue for in divorce court she is a better lawyer than he is anyway!

I live in Chapel Hill. Elizabeth lives and owns a store here and seems pretty independent. John shows up to sports events sometimes, but I never see Elizabeth with him. It wouldn't surprise me if she's maintaining the Chapel Hill home, and he's living separately in Wilmington. It's only about three hours from here.
At least someone is thinking of the child; that's the only bright side to this grim story.
I feel so sorry for Mrs. Edwards. Like she doesn't have enough on her plate with her health issues? Her husband is scum, I hope she dumps him.
Poor Elizabeth! To first have to go through a battle with cancer and then find out her husband was cheating…and now this! I feel so sorry for her. John is such a cad.
Likely Elizabeth is thinking of her children anbd what will happen to them when she dies. After all, John will be the only parent and he will have to raise them at that point. If they are not going to be severely traumatized more than will happen anyways with her dieing, she would want them to have a family life after she is gone. That would likely include their half sister and her mother. What a horrible nightmare for Elizabeth,though.

A couple of comments: Rudy 96, Edwards did not amass his fortune in politics, he did it through his work as a trial attorney. Elizabeth IS well enough to take John to court, cheesemeister– she travels all over the country to speak at different venues. Relative to the post itself the Edwards beach home is on Figure 8 Island, about 30 minutes from Wilmington, Wilmington is about 2 1/2 hours from Chapel Hill. So its not like this is in the "hood" or anything. Also, $6500 would be stupid to pay in rent for any size house is this market. At any rate John can afford to pay any amount. Thats not an issue.
I think he should leave Liz (everyone knows he loved Rielle). But, Reille should kick his ass to the curb too. Liz just bad mouths Rielle and she is getting bad press now so she is saying she thinks the house is a good idea. He is a loser and Liz …it takes two to tanggo!
