Mediocrity Is Celebrated, Robbie Williams Is An Honored Brit!

We're not exactly sure what he's done to deserve this, nor do we think that he should be placed in the same company as Sir Paul McCartney.

What did those Brits put in their tea this morning?!

Sources say that Robbie Williams will be honored this coming year at the Brit Awards. He will be receiving the Outstanding Contribution Award and will close the show with a performance.

Maybe we'll see a Take That reunion?

Of course, as you all recall, the last time Robbie was to perform on the show, he had to make a pit-stop at rehab first. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

Congrats, Robbie! You worked hard for this!

He worked HARD for this, Perezito

  2. 2

…Perez, if you can be deigned a 'Queen,' then any accolade to anyone is possible. Huh? Whaaa? Oh, not 'that' kind of Queen. Sorry. Mybad.

  3. 3

This coming from someone who thinks Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan and Kim Kardashian are news worthy…

  4. 4

No surprise…. he is lauded by many for his "oral" skills.

  5. 5

    Robbie who?

  6. 6

Re: karencarpenter – I love Karen Carpenter and love your posts! She and you both are the bomb!

  7. 7

Robbie Williams worked very hard!! Just because he isn't that very well known in the us, doesn't mean that he doesn't deserve this.

  8. 8

    I'm a Brit… nice tea stereotype.
Now Perezski, what exactly did you put in your syrup covered pancakes and multicoloured pure sugar cereals this morning?

  9. 9

Re: karencarpenterRe: Canadiana* – afternoon ladies…

  10. 10

I think you have to BE a BRIT to understand this, Robbie Williams is part of the fabric of the last decade of english history!

  11. 11

Re: JigSaw – I mention oral skills and look who shows up…LOL Hi there!!

  12. 12

Robbie's the best there ever was!
Fuck You for even saying mediocrity and robbie in the same sentence!

  13. 13

Umm, Robbie Williams is kind of huge.
Perez, Barbara, and all his interns are fucktards

  14. 14

    Re: x-filephile – …very nice comment. Thank you.Re: JigSaw – …afternoon Jig. Hope you have a 'killer' opening.Re: Canadiana* – …LOL!

  15. 15

Perez, more and more each day I see why you are so venomously attacked. I would think you would be aware of how successful Robbie Williams career has been in International markets. Thankfully, you no longer need the United States to validate your breakthrough now that nearly 35-40% of sales come from outside of the States. Robbie was given one of the most lucrative contracts to date and in many ways was the beginning of the 360 Deals now happening in the music industry. You are aware of 360 Deals, right Perez???

  16. 16

He SO deserve this !! Congrats Robbie !!!

  17. 17

Perez, Robbie is a legend in the UK - just youtube 'Knebworth' and you will see what an 'outstanding contribution' he has made to the British music scene. Just because he's not so well-known in the US does not mean that he doesn't deserve it and hasn't worked hard for it.

  18. 18

Perez, you are indeed the shameless hater I knew you always were. Robbie Williams sold over 40 million copies of his first 5 albums in the UK alone. If you're going to claim to be the queen of all media, you should really research the people you write about before attempting to tear them down. At least he went to rehab to get help with his problems, I don't see you joining "I eat a dozen donuts an hour anonymous"

  19. 19

Brush up on your music knowledge Perez… Robbie is considered an icon in the UK. He doesn't have to be a big star in the states to be highly regarded…

  20. 20

Anyone who would promote that Slimeball freak wouldn't know what real talent is anyway. Compare how many records Williams has sold to that thing you signed to your unknown label. Hope you're enjoying your failures.

  21. 21

he def worked harder than you "perez" have ever worked at anything. at least he is famous for himself, and not creating his fame because of other people

  22. 22

    Re: Canadiana* – lol!!hehehhehheeeeeeeeeeee…………

  23. 23

This guy is a talent. He is music, it is a shame America can't see it. I do! Good for him.

  24. 24

He worked hard for this! Do you remember a song called Angels, one of the biggest pophits of the 90s?!!

  25. 25

contradict yourself much Perez? Wasn't just sometime this week, you were saying Robbie everywhere….. you're a confused soul my dear.

  26. 26

Re: Sensitivity – Hello again luv… you've been missed. Too much time at sea and so few ship to shore messages… glad you're back :)

  27. 27

He did worked hard for it Perez. Well, this comes from someone who thinks Gaga is talented……..

  28. 28

Hmm…well…1st. he is British and not American. So that means there is plenty about him we don't know. We like to think we are the only country in the universe with celebrities and stars. Britain has their own culture and music industry. Just because he is not top of the charts in America doesn't mean he has no fans in his native country.
American boy bands were sent to Europe first to gain fame before they even tried their hand at American charts. We had no idea who the Backstreet Boys were when Europe did.

Maybe you should hook up with gossip girls from different countries to make sure all your facts or straight.

perez you are an itiot. Robbie Williams is 100 times more talented and popular than you will ever be. Just because he is not that well known by stupid americans does not mean that he is one of the best entertainers ever. You would be lucky to have half of the success and fan loyalty that he has.

  30. 30

Why Are you so bitter lardass?
BTW can we see pictures of your boyfriend? (oops you don't have any…for how many years now?)
    xLove

    31

Whoa back down Perez! He's one of the best popstars of his generation. He has won 15 Brit awards so I think that qualifies him as being worthy of a outstanding contribution award!

  32. 32

"Do you remember a song called Angels, one of the biggest pophits of the 90s?!! "

…the answer is no, we don't remember it. They only thing the US knows about this guy is that he came over thinking he was the shit but he got ignored and sent home.

  33. 33

Too far Perez, too far. Have you seen this man live?

  34. MCFF says – reply to this

    34

RW has done so much for british music.. he is the most successful european artist of the last 11 years and his tours have broken all records.
RW is an idol and an icon and i'm so glad that he's back.

  35. 35

He puts the Brits in celebrity.

  36. 36

omg perez, robbie totally deserves this! he's a legend in britain :) and he's massive across europe and austraila.

  37. Jaded says – reply to this

    37

Yeah I have to agree with everyone here. While living in Europe you couldn't get away from Robbie WIlliams. Just because he's not huge in the States means nothing. After all the US isn't the end all be all of music, culture, celebrity. Take a look at your darling Kylie Minogue. She has been huge around the world for some 20 odd years and she's finally catching on in the States, except for that blip in the 80's with LocoMotion. Are you seriously going to say that since she's only gaining footing in the US recently she hasn't been working hard for the 20+ years that she's been around.
As someone who claims to be so music forward and "continental" I would think you would know more about music than how far you can stick your head up Lady Gaga's ass.
Oh, I'm sorry did Robbie Williams miss a payment to you? Did he forget to pay homage to your massive ego? Everyone here knows that these so called celebs pay you to be nice to them. That's why you hated on Paris Hilton for a while a few years ago because she stopped paying you extortion fees.

  38. 38

PEREZ YOU SHOULD REALLY SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!
WHAT DO YOU KNOW, HE WORKED REALLY HARD FOR THIS YOU PRICK !!!!

  39. 39

You're such a flip flopper Perez, I thought you loved Robbie. Fact is when he came along in the mid 90's, the radio was full of cheesy dance crap. He went back to pure pop song writing and inspired thousands of other tracks that were actually bearable to listen to. One moment you say you love Robbie, the next you say he's mediocre? He's actually produced some pretty nice songs over the past decade. Maybe you should listen to them.

  40. 40

at least he writes his own material, u should try it

  41. 41

Mediocrity and Robbie in the same sentence…..noooo. HE IS A GOD. i love him his music is the BEST of this world. I LOVE YOUUU ROBITOOOOO

  42. Gigi7 says – reply to this

    42

Robbie Williams is a FANTASTIC singer ! I love his songs and I also love his version of "My Way".

It's on youtube and if you want to hear a really great performance you should listen to him singing that song. His video for "Rock DJ" is very good too.

  43. MUNON says – reply to this

    43

Congratulations to Robbie….he well deserve it!!!!

  44. 44

Robbie Williams is very, very big everywhere else in the world. He's one of the most famous celebrities in the world–except for the US. I'm not surprised he is being honored with such a prestigious award.

  45. 45

i am from England and don't get why you don't love Robbie! he is 100 times better then lada gaga and if you listen to Knebworth you will see that Lady Gaga will never even nearly get as many people to turn up to a concert as Robbie! I love Robbie!!!!!!

  46. 46

You can fuck right off you fat fuck! Robbie Williams is an institution in the UK, just because he wasn't big in America doesn't mean you can negate his other success. KOL were big in England before you Americans decided you wanted to know. He has won 15 Brit awards so yeah he does deserve it. He is a top showman and you are a fucking two bit gossip columnist who gets off on ridiculing everyone else because your so insecure with your own pathetic life. You can take your Sliimy and Frankimusic and shove them up your lard arse because YOU DO NOT KNOW MUSIC!!

  47. 47

Mediocrity? How can you judge based off only the X-Factor performance which started off with a stage malfunction that threw his pace off? His first time back in years and performing in front of millions of people? Not a fair judgement. This is essentially a life time achievement award, they're looking at the whole bag, and he's influenced the Brit music scene a LOT. He more than deserves it.

  48. 48

robbie is bigger than you will ever be perez and i mean bigger in fame way not in a fat way coz you would win that hands down.

  49. 49

So he may not be that well known in the USA, but almost everybody loves Robbie in the UK. He was the only act at Live 8 that people were jumping to and even during Mariahs performance before his, the crowd were chanting ROBBIE and not paying attention to her.

  50. 50

'…the answer is no, we don't remember it. They only thing the US knows about this guy is that he came over thinking he was the shit but he got ignored and sent home. '

BRITS are for british people anyway if you don't live in Britan and dont have an interest in british music then you shouldn't even be bothered about this! People should remember the amazing enterence Robbie made at the Brits way back when he opened. he was the best thing around and Take that is nothing without him he is a true entertainer!!!

  51. 51

Okay, normally I couldn't care less about the crap you write for most of the time but this time you are out of line!

Robbie has been a UNICEF ambassador since 2000 and created his own charity to make life better for the kids living in Stoke-on-Trent, his hometown.

Aside from that, Robbie's been an inspiration for the music scene. Not only was Take That one of the biggest boybands of the 90ies, before all the rest came and went, he's a born entertainer. Robbie has faced a lot of struggles in the past but he's been an amazing singer/entertainer.

He sells out arena's that hold over 60.000 people. As many has mentioned, you really should check live @ Knebworth.

  52. 52

It's not because you don't make it in the USA that it means that your career means absolutely nothing!!!! Robbie can tour Europe for the rest of his natural born life and still make tons of money.

The states is so fickle when it comes to music when in Europe, yes I am European so i know what the fuck i'm talking about, we stay loyal to our artists.

I remember when "Good Morning Revival" came out by Good Charlotte, it didn't do all that great in the US. it did AMAZING in Europe, sold out every single show. Does that mean GC doesn't deserve all the good in life? No, it doesn't.

Your "good" friends of Simple plan, whom I adore fyi, haven't toured the US in four years, yet they've toured Europe twice last year. There was a time that Simple plan would be in Europe every three months. Does that mean they failed? That they're mediocre? HELL NO!!!!

And besides, like many have said before, do your freaking research before you open your mouth.

Robbie deserves all the good that comes to him. He is not mediocre! I'm sure you've never seen him in concert. So I suggest that before you open your mouth, you really think hard about the things you say instead of spreading bullshit around and taking it as the truth.

  53. 53

Re: pink89 – I wouldn't go that far by saying that Take That is nothing without him. They're doing great on their own. Selling 700.000 tickets in under an hour, I really wouldn't say that they're nothing without him…

  54. 54

you call him mediocre but you prize the Jonas Brothers and Twilight, HA

  55. 55

Talk about celebrating mediocrity. That's what this entire website is all about.
