Television entertainer Soupy Sales passed away last Thursday at a New York City hospice. The comedian was famous for his slapstick children's television show The Soupy Sales Show and especially for his "pie-in-the-face" schtick.
Soupy was 83 years old and is survived by his two sons and wife.

rip…..
who? nonetheless, RIP…..
There's going to be an *awesome* round of "Match Game" in heaven tonight.
Sad, sad. I used to watch him on tv when I was a kid.
Re: JigSaw – so i see your movie is out today - hope it's good! it looks fantastic!
…rest in peace you crazy, funny, talented guy.
Awww, he was a fixture on TV in the 50's, 60's, etc.. RIP
Loved him!
RIP Soupy!
RIP Soupy
I'm throwing pies today in memory. I loved what he said about the "art" Crust was very important. You wanted it to break up in tiny bits so you could see the face in all it's humiliation… or something like that.
Re: JigSaw – PIE!
I REMEMBER WHEN HOWARD STERN CUT HIS PIANO STRINGS RIP SOUPY.
Re: LizardKinG –
Howard was saying recently how he always regretted doing that considering he was such a big fan of his growing up.
Gosh I didn't know he was still alive! RIP
Loved the Soup.
that's sad. he was awesome. another legend dead. they don't make 'em like that anymore.
That's a shame. He was one of a kind. RIP
Stern is gonna be pissed. He loved Soupy Sales.
rip.
He was the best! White Fang and Black Tooth!
10 bucks says Perez has never heard of Sales before today.
SOUPY will be missed. We all loved Soupy. Met him on the roof of Rocky Aoki's Club Genesis one time -he was playing tennis with Richard M. Dixon, the Nixon impersonator. He had a couple of hilarious hit 'Novelty' songs, "Hey, Do The Mouse!" and "Affalafaca." He was suspended a few times for various pranks, "Hey kids, we love those pictures of Presidents so why don't you find some in Mommy & Daddy's wallet and send them to our studio address!" On YouTube you can see Alice Cooper getting a pie in the face on one of Soup's last shows! " Soupy was part of a rollicking gang of comedians and hosts who proliferated in the 1960's- people like Chuck McCann (Little Orphan Annie) and Sandy Becker (Norton Nork, Hambone).
my dad told me about soupy sales. he used to watch him as a kid!
I hope they kept some of his shows! He was good! It makes me miss New York City and that era. RIP Mr. Sales!
