This Is Not It! Say Michael Jackson Fans

Not everyone is thrilled to see the new This Is It documentary about Michael Jackson. Some fans are down-right outraged and have started a campaign against the flick.

The campaign, dubbed This Is Not It, is lead by a group of Jackson fans who feel the movie ignores the “dire state” of MJ’s health in those last final months of his life as promoters ran him ragged for their benefit.

The group has started a website that details what audiences will and won't see included in the footage as well as this message to fellow fans:

“In the weeks leading up to Michael Jackson’s death, while this footage was being shot, people around him knew that he looked like he might have died. Those who stood to make a profit chose to ignore it. Friends and fans who had no financial interest, chose to address it and attempted to help him. AEG, the promoters for This Is It, ignored the signs, ignored the pleas, and in fact, actively covered up the truth. What you will see on that screen is part of that cover up.”

Along with the website, the group created their own trailer for the movie to showcase their point-of-view on the documentary. Watch as the creators play with footage and photos from Michael's life to create a very different perspective. (above)

What do U think of this campaign?

Of course the film is bound to be an homage. I'll see it, but yes, he looked terrible, I don't care what anyone says.

    5. 5

Who cares? Hall & Oats rule

    6. 6

OK. MJ is not just a victim. He was a drug addict. He WANTED the drugs. He knew what he was taking and threw fits when people tried to keep him from using. Yes he was amazing and yes he had a hard life, but nobody MADE him do drugs. Its called rising above your circumstances. People do it all the time.

    7. 7

we should be celebrating MJs life, not paying off his debt which was left from the concert.
Cheers to MJ and the amazing life he lived.

    8. 8

Interesting! There will always be a veil of mystery surrounding MJ's death. In the 'Legend' sense, this will fortunately or unfortunately keep his legend alive like it did with Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, James Dean, Jimmy Morrison, etc. People will continue to profit off of his death like most of the names I've mentioned above. Time will only tell if the revenue will fall in the the right hands, like his children.

    9. 9

I think that video would have been better if it was not flashing black spots while I was trying to read.

I want to add something to what I just said…and I'm trying to be sensitve about this but I think what people who are defending his health are all about is preventing the public from going one step beyond questions about his dependence on sleeping aids. A lot of people take sleeping pills–obviously not what M. took, but nevertheless it's not beyond most people's experience. If he wasn't really in good health, though (and remember, he did die), then what else was he on? What did he need to get UP, not down? And that sounds a lot more like just plain old drug addiction to folks. So those who are defending his health are also trying to head off the image of him as an addict, a label that tends to consume any celeb's image, especially after death.

    11. 11

      so freakin mellow-dramatic.

    12. 12

I think he was forced to do many things he wouldn't have done if he wasn't so in debt and needed more money to continue his drug abuse. He was an addict that needed help and no one paid attention. A real shame.

    13. 13

…it has happened before. The 'cash cow' gets ignored because he/she is bringing in money for many involved. One more album, one more concert tour, one more award and then he/she can rest. in peace.

    14. 14

      Mis huevos!

    15. 15

We lost the greatest entertainer that ever lived……i don't care how……just leave him at peace and spare us anymore pain……turn on billy jean and remember him before all this maddness

    16. 16

I am so so so sad about his passing, hopefully the people who are responsible will find a similar dead.
Karma will get them sooner or later.

    17. 17

Re: PerezIsAjoke – Concise and accurate. There is truly nothing more to say than this. These are the same enablers (who created this piece) that will be planning a pity party for Lindsay, soon I fear. Celebs and non celebs need to smarten up.

    18. 18

I'm sold! They're right, those who could've prevented the tragic event that was his death are now benefiting their pockets.

    19. 19

I will ot be supporting this… They wont get my 10.50.

    20. 20

I feel this is the case.. and it's really really terribly sad :(
he was such a gentle kind man, he would do what everyone wanted him to do.

    21. 21

People did try and save MJ but he was so powerful that he was able to shut out anyone that didn't cater to him. The sad fact is MJ was a drug addict! and he had so many enablers that it finally killed him, sad but true!!
      ***RIP MICHAEL JACKSON***

    22. 22

i think (and hope) that the original idea of the movie was to celebrate MJ's life, so it makes sense to me that they leave out the negative aspect.
however, since we obviously know he was on the road to death during filming, i feel like it would be accurate to at least acknowledge that he was unhealthy

    23. 23

Almost everything people are producing to do with MJ now, the home series of the Jacksons and this movie are all monye making schemes…may MJ rest in peace God bless him please because he does not deserve all this.

    24. 24

Whatever, Sunshine, you're talking about a 50 YEAR OLD MAN!!!! How do you FORCE intervention on a 50 year old superstar who pays an unethical doctor to put him under full anesthesia on a regular basis. The doc should be responsible. He knew what he was doing and the risk of death associated with such a practice!

    25. 25

Oh please…he did it to himself…Kenny Ortega is to be believed…he tried…Micheal wanted him to keep pushing…so let's celebrate what he left….not bury it with him!

    26. 26

I love him so much. He was so sensitive to human needs and we lost somebody who was helping and influencing the world through his art. Those people who accused him with the child molestation cases, I hope they die!!!!

    27. 27

Give LaToya a computer and this is the shit she comes up with.

    28. 28

Why is Michael Jackson always the victim? Everyone makes it sound like he didn't have the power to say no to anyone. He died because he was a drug addict not because people were making him rehearse. If certain people would have stopped suppling him drugs he would have gone somewhere else and gotten them. Thats what drug addicts do.

    29. 29

      Stupid ass video.

    30. 30

You can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved. Clearly Michael knew he was risking his life and didn't care.

    31. 31

Re: Douche Hunter – awh fuck its hole or should i say betty

    32. 32

Re: crazziii – you hit the nail on the head…i'm tired of everyone feeling sorry for him, he made millions upon millions of dollars and had every opportunity to live a great life yet he chose to have inappropriate relationships with kids, and excessive drug use.

    33. 33

Michael Jackson is dead. he is deceased. he is out of this world and on to a better place. Can we just stop talking about it and making up our own versions of his life. Noone knows what really went on and whether or not he did drugs he is the king of pop and will always be and thats all we need to remember.

    34. 34

he knew he was gonna die from drugs. he had a problem long before AEG took this on.

      He also likes mini peen.

    35. 35

its about time that someone acknowledge him as a person rather than a cash cow for these promoters, and even his own family. They shouldnt be allowed to make money on a dead person like that.

    36. 36

Re: Huge* – hahahahah you're a broken douche nozzle used by a resourceful gay man.

    37. 37

How do these campain ppl know what Michael was going threw??? Im going to see the movie becuz this was michael's last performance n i tihnk people know how amazing he was as a performer. Im not gonna judge until i see the movie

    38. 38

OMG People. MJ was not a damn dog that was forced to do anything. People need to stop treating and referring to him like he was a baby or something that had no control.

Things happen, accidents happen, get over it.

Just enjoy the damn movie and shut your pathetic mouths. He's dead and there is nothing you can do about it.
      Geezzzzzz

      Fucking Christ.

      41

BOO HOO another Hollywood drug addict. Too bad so sad. He begged for those drugs and knew exactly what he was doing. He didn't mean to kill himself, but that's what happens when you play with fire. Can't handle the pressure? Sell some shit and move on. Its always a choice folks.

    42. 42

Perez, thank you for posting this. I think more people need to see this. Change of plans, now I definitely won't be seeing this movie. I don't want my money going to those greedy assholes that killed him.

    43. 43

ridiculous. Michael would not have listened, he never listened. He was a grown up with lots of power. he was addicted to lots of pharmacological crutches and confetti. he was not a victim.

    44. 44

Really? People actually started a campaign for this? Perez Hilton is entertaining for sure, but people are way too obsessed with celebrities. Do people really have nothing better to do? Reading this blog only occasionally fits into my schedule between school, work, family, traveling, and i guess actually having a life?? Americans care more about attention whoring, druggie alcoholic celebrities than they do themselves apparently. Maybe this is why America can't figure out it's health care problems, and get out of it's own debt. Wake up people, start a campaign for orphans or homeless people - not someone who is predicted to make 200 million dollars after he died…

    45. 45

Re: ammmber – wow, unintelligent AND ignorant. How old are you?

    46. 46

Re: metalxxx – uhh, is this question serious or are you being a smart ass? millions and millions of people care, if you really wanted to know.

    47. 47

Michael had serious issues even before the idea of his This Is Tour came about…you hear that his autopsy showed he was in pretty decent health (minus his drug use), but then you also hear he looked haggard and sickly…with Michael Jackson, there's nothing that you can truly believe about his personal life. What we can believe is that he was an AMAZING entertainer, he made some of the greatest music that we will ever hear in our lifetime, and he impacted so many lives for the better. Of course the companies he worked with are going to make money off of his death…he's Michael Jackson! I think the best way to show we're still supporting him is to let him rest in peace…and play his music over and over again…don't stop ’til you get enough!

    48. Moron says – reply to this

      48

Why do people rush to judgement without knowing the facts? How does any of you saying he knew what he was doing, know he really knew? And even if he was addicted to prescription drugs, the people who saw his physical conditions deteriorate and did nothing for the benefit of profit, still bear some responsibility. He was the victim of a crime,no matter how you look at it, and it could have been prevented.

      Money.
      Money…
      Lie for it
      Spy for it
      Kill for it
      Die for it
      So you call it trust
      But I say it's just
      In the devil's game
      Of greed and lust
      They don't care
They'd do me for the money
      They don't care
They use me for the money

    49. 49

Michael's autopsy showed he weighed 139 lbs at the time of his death which was within the healthy range for his height of 5'9. I think that people enabled him but at the same time I don't think anybody knew how bad he was…. Also, you can't blame AEG for his death if Michael couldn't handle the schedule he could've said something…. he missed when he needed too…. I think it was just his time for God to call him home….

    50. 50

I know the coroner said he was in good health, but in my eyes he looked sick. He was very skinny, anorexic looking. Michael did say that when he was stressed he wouldn't eat. You can clearly tell he was going through something. I know if someone I loved was looking the way he did, I would try to help them, not push them to rehearse. And of course AEG isn't going to show the bad stuff, they don't want anyone pointing fingers at them. I believe that there is something else going on, but were never going to know what. All we can do is just let him rest in peace. And I will be watching the movie. I'm a MJ fan I have to see him in action.

    51. 51

Re: theshiznit22 – My thoughts EXACTLY. I just want to celebrate his life and all the good memories.

    52. 52

If I don;t get to see my MJ when this comes out somebody is going to pay.

    53. 53

totaly agree, doubtful that michael would have wanted his death exploited like this! its just another lame atempt at getting money of his fans, and for what?

micheal was private about his life, and i would like to think his family respects that decision, but obviously not!

    54. 54

This video and post sadly makes a point. AEG Live will make a profit (10%) off the film's revenue, BUT 90% goes to Jackson's estate, and, not to criticizes him but he was/is in a lot a debt, so the profits from the film will help him, and the money (if there's any left) will go to his kids. So in a way, this film could honestly really benefit Jackson and his kids.

Re: imawesome – I honestly think that you should see the movie, because the film will positively help Jackson - just sayin'.

    55. 55

omg i never realized this…this hit me hard man uggh. i feel sick

    56. 56

There were a lot of "those who stood to make a profit" in Jackson's life. Sad.

Re: MommyMaddie – God didn't call him home, idiot, he was murdered.A quack administered him a lethal dose of propofol.Stop making excuses for criminals and leave God out of it!

    58. 58

Re: LV-Entergetic – I also want to add something to what I just said, I honestly and sadly have to admit that while this video makes a point, and it kinda made me feel sick. BUT, watching the movie will show him in a good and positive light and will aid his "legacy", so in a way watching the film could be a good last memory of him - just sayin'.
      - Also, some facts in this video are incorrect - Jackson's autopsy stated he weighted *136 * pounds and at 5'9 that's an okay weight.

    59. 59

Well, I just wasted 3 minutes and 57 seconds of my life that I'll never get back.

    60. ibx says – reply to this

      60

Right…. So basically Mj was a puppet…..Sad if you let somebody else to take care of your life and tell you what to do i guess is not your fault what happened to you… MJ die 15 years ago…

    61. 61

We are supposed to look at the GOOD and GREAT things Michael did, the GREAT rehearsals and how GREAT he was. Of course people know what he went through but that's NOT the point of the movie. I think the point is to show us what a GREAT performer and person he was and how big it was to loose him. So stop with this. It's dumb !

    62. 62

It's hard to imagine that as a perfectionist, Michael Jackson would have wanted this film to happen. Concert promoters, choreographer and others who will benefit have convinced themselves otherwise to make a buck and gain some fame. Another tragic chapter.

    63. 63

Poorly made video anyway, hard to capture you attention with the way it was constructed.

    64. 64

      Re: Gescol – Exactly

    65. 65

      That's Showbiz…

    66. 66

i dont think MJ would have wanted us to see him in that bad condition anyway..

    67. 67

      It's complicated.

    68. 68

      greatest film ever made.

    69. 69

He was killed by the Illuminati who paid Murray to give him an overdose of Propofol. I will see the movie, one last time to see my angel shine.

    70. 70

      we killed michael jackson.

    71. 71

SORRY IM STILL GOING TO SEE THE MOVIE EITHER ON DVD OR AT THE THEATRE..O BTW MICHAEL WASNT 108 PDS..HE WAS 138..GET IT RIGHT.MICHAEL WEIGHT ALWAYS WENT UP AND DOWN,NOTHING NEW.ALL THE MONEY FROM THE FILM IS GOING TO HIS CHILDREN,THATS ALL I CARE ABOUT.IM A DIE HARD FAN AND THE ONLY PERSON THAT KILLED HIM WAS THE DR,AND HE NEEDS TO BE IN PRISON,PLAIN AND SIMPLE.R.I.P. MICHAEL.

    72. 72

Thanks Perez for posting this. I support This is NOT it campaign 100%Everyone need to know that AEG is lying to us. MJ was not prepared to do those concerts, he was not healthy, but those close to him choose to ignored it. They were only thinking about the MONEY.

MJ fans please Join us in the This Is NOT it campaign, help us spread the truth. AEG is lying to us, they are not telling the truth about MJ conditions during his last days. This Is Not it is a campaign to spread the truth about MJ last days and to bring justice to MJ.

    73. 73

Thank you for putting this up. It was very powerful & I was in tears the whole time. I agree 100% that he was not only murdered but MJ was lead to his death bed by sick people and their greed. It's sickeng and I still cry to this day over my first crush gone forever! The most incredible & talented music icon that ever lived is gone because of greed and haters. But in our hearts MJ lives on!

    74. 74

Oh I get it… The promoters were forcing him to do the drugs, and they put a gun to his head telling him to go on tour, not for 10 dates but for 50 dates. Oh poor fragile MJ at the tender age of 49 was taken advantage of and forced to agree to a job he wasn't well enough to do.

It's everyones fault but his? Give me a break.

    75. 75

He joins a list of celebrities who were run into the ground by the greedy people around them.

    76. 76

MJs death was tragic and sad and yes, there are going to be many who will want the truth. but in the world we live in, sadly that is not going to happen. Yes there were many greedy people who didnt look after him and let him continue his drug addiction (it must be accepted that he was addicted to drugs due to stress or what i dont know) but instead of creating negativity that will continue the michael jackson legend, shouldnt people be willing to celebrate his life? remembering him as an ill, frail man who was not ready for the tours that he was relentlessly preparing for . is that the best way to remember a legend? a man who used music to bring the world together? is that they way he would want to be remembered? or would it be the musical mastermind who could dance like he was 20 despite his deteriorating health?
i think these people need to think more carefully about what they are doing. Yes there are many greedy people profiting off his death and they will continue to do so but this happens to many BIG celebrities and legends. this is not it, in my opinion, is doing more bad than good. its trying to cause something instead of letting people enjoy and celebrate the life of Michael Jackson.

    77. 77

also i want to add, that many people are going to want to place a blame on someone. it was mjs fault and those around him. he is the victim of a harsh world that is the entertainement business but also, it was not purely other peoples fault. he was responsible for his actions. whatever they may be, none of us except those that know michael will know. so its better if people dont believe what the media and people have to say.

    78. 78

HOLY SHIT THAT SONG WAS IN REQIEM FOR A DREAM!! sorry had to point it out…
anyway yah i think its rediculous that they made a movie. and they are using his fame he worked hard on to make money for themselves.

    79. 79

The day Michael showed up to court in his pajamas I said to myself "they" have done it. He's broken, it's probably over. I miss him and hope we all learn something positive from all this… I think that would be love & stop hating, it kills.

    80. 80

MICHAEL WAS INNOCENT OF ALL THE DISGUSTING FALSE CHARGES AGAINST HIM. HE WAS PROOVED INNOCENT TWICE. GO BUY THE BOOK "UNMASKED" AND YOU WILL BE SHOCKED BY THE STORIES AND LIES THE LOSERS CREATED TO GET HIS MONEY. SICK PEOPLE. LIES LIES LIES I HOPE THOSE LIARS ROT IN HELL!

    81. 81

Sounds like a perfect documentary idea for Michael Moore.

    82. 82

Give me a break here. First and foremost, if MJ only did ONE (1) of the 50 concerts promised…all would have been forgiven. Only a fool would have felt otherwise. His world of fans knew he was compromised in many ways. And he was loved worldwide. I'm sure he felt pressured to perform, however, he knew his power in the industry. Think about that. From here on it's all about $ for those of exploit him. This video is proof.

    83. 83

Anyone who doesn't already know this either doesn't care enough or is blind to the obvious. Unfortunately it's too late. People will be trying to make money off this man until the day the public finally stops buying.

    84. 84

Re: Fathom – In my perspective, I think that he was "run into the ground" by the people who made him. I honestly think that the people who made his solo career, in the end - honestly were the people who, through-out his life and career, were the ones who destroyed it. It's so terrible and horribly sad.

    85. 85

These people are a bunch of nuts and followers of Karen Faye, MJ's makeup artist who is writing a book. Amazing how many "friends" are cashiing in on MJ.
These campaigners are women who stalked MJ when he was alive and now they want attention. Half of the posts on here are from them.
      Bunch of nuts!

    86. 86

I'm going to support the movie. When the conspiracy theorist determine it was Sony that 'killed' MJ then I'll campaign against them until then I will support it because I want to see 'what could have been the best concert ever'.

    87. 87

      gaaay

    88. 88

Oh wow…. Every fan/person has the right to think whatever but Michael really wanted to do this concert for his children and fans. I believe it is true that he had initially agreed to do 10 shows, but the day the presale tickets went on sale totally sold out all 10 shows and didn't give other fans the oppurtunity to see him. Michael did have alot of shady people around him but fact is that he passed away at the hands of Murray. His heart didn't give out due to his rehearsals etc., his heart gave out (I really hate saying that ;( because of the lethal dose of Propofol that was administered to him by Murray. In this video they say Kenny Ortega had to hand feed him. Kenny Ortega never said that. He did said that he would ask Michael all the time if he had eaten well that day. Michael has said that he was never a big eater. Everytime he did a tour/ prepared for a tour he lost even more weight. Michael has said that Elizabeth Taylor has actually had to hand feed him in the past because he just wouldn't eat. He was consumed with his talent and creativeness and didn't have the urge for food. He also said that his mother would have to do the same thing to him when he was younger. Also the picture they show that I believe is trying to show him as being tired after working, happens to be a very old picture of him in his dance studio at Neverland. I for one can't wait to see what it was that Michael was working so hard on.

    89. 89

"This is It" is being released because it was the last thing that Michael worked on. Though it will be hard to see for that reason, it will also be good for the fact that alot of people will get to see him enjoy doing one of his favorite things; and that was entertain. He said he wanted to do this show while he was young enough to do it for his kids and fans. It may be extremely difficult for his children to watch this now but in the future they will more then likely be happy to know that there Daddy was filmed during rehearsals for a show that he was doing for them before he passed. This is also for the fans like me who will get to see on film what I would have seen up close. Of course it won't be the same but it will be better then not seeing anything at all. BTW 90% of the earnings from the film goes to his estate, though I wish it was more then that I'm glad 90% of the earnings isn't going to SONY or AEG.

    90. 90

Re: majeff – "The day Michael showed up to court in his pajamas I said to myself "they" have done it."

Michael was in pajamas because he had hurt himself the night before, went to the hospital (in his pajamas) and had court the next day but the judge said he didn't care about him being in the hospital and only had a certain amount of time to get in that courtroom so he was forced to literally show up with the clothes on his back from the hospital. That's something the media never wanted to discuss. They just called it the "Pajama Court day" making him look like some idiot who didn't care about coming to court dressed dignified (though everyday before and after that day he had dressed impeccably.)

    91. 91

Re: King_K_Rool – Ask your father how old I am.

    92. 92

Yes AEG did a horrible thing , they took a BIG gun and put it to Michael's head and jammed tens upon tens of millions of dollars in his pockets. I say they should be prosecuted!

    93. 93

take time to visit the website…

the fans that created this campaign were with with Michael Jackson in the last weeks of his life, they saw what they're talking about and tried to help him… unfortunately too late

    94. 94

      Ohhhh shaft.

    95. 95

What do U think of this campaign?

      97

Let's not shift the blame here….he was a drug addict who died because of his addictions. Nobody forced drugs on him. He asked for it.

As a longtime member of the MJ fan community I can tell you the majority of us completely disagree with this and basically suspected all along that some nutty fans were going to come out and stir up garbage (a minority of them always do embarrass the rest of us). Michael was healthy prior to his death, which was CONFIRMED by the autopsy. He may have been very thin, but he always was, particularly during times in his life when he was working on new projects as he had a tendency to get stressed and work so hard he didn't eat much. Autopsies don't lie, aside from some arthritis he was fine (besides the drugs that killed him). The only objection I have to "This Is It" is that it's more of a dress rehearsal during which Michael was planning things out and never threw himself into rehearsals 1000% so you are basically seeing him do everything halfway and as a perfectionist, he would have never wanted the public to see an unfinished product. However it's all we have of the last show and I'm proud to be seeing it next week.

Re: Yazzie04 – How do they know? Go to the website. These people know what they are talking about…because they were there, had contact with MJ and his staff. So before you pass judgement on this group, go check out why they have started this campaign.

Hey people….go to the website. These people know what they were talking about because they were there, months before June 25th. Yes he was on drugs, yes he threw fits when people tried to intervene. He was 50 years old, a wealthy superstar, and it's difficult to tell a 50 year old what to do, especially a wealthy superstar. You don't get it. And if MJ was 135lbs at the time of his death then I'm 88lbs. This shiz was going on months before June 25th, that's why he fired Grace Rhwamba, because she tried to help him; not the doctors who have the moral and ethical license to get the man help. No they just wanted his money. He's gone, yes, but it could have been avoided.
