Warhol's MJ Is Back On The Auction Block

Andy Warhol's portrait of Michael Jackson is finally up for $ale!

A similar MJ portrait was sold in early August to an anonymous bidder, but Christie's auction house in NYC will be placing another Jackson portrait by Warhol up for auction starting November 10th.

The 1984 silk-screened portrait is expected to fetch an impressive $500,000 to $700,000!

Here's the deal: some stupid moron will prob pay $500,000. for it , but a sophisticated art collector would not. And here's why: it's a PRINT, which means there is a SERIES of them. And even though MJ is a good subject, this is NOT the monoprint that Warhol is known for. But as I said, some under educated douche will want to show off and buy it.

Yeah its a warhol. My Aunt had a Warhol done of her just before he died when Neimans had them for sale in the Xmas Catalog. She Sold it to a warhol collector a few years later for 75 grand and she is an just a regular person

Re: Amsterdamgirl – Exactly! I was born 1995, and I honestly didn't know much to anything about him, and after he died out of curiosity I did tons of research on him and I learn so much about him. Before I knew more about him, I only knew of the "lies" and I can honestly say - after learning about both sides (positive and negative) of his life, that the accusation's were/are complete extortion and that Jackson was a victim to the media and was destroyed by the people who made him. Before I learned more about him I'd always hear 'he had a tragic life' - but the sad truth is that everyone around him made his life tragic and I'd always hear he was "weird" and a "wacko", but In my perspective I don't think that he's weird or a wacko, because all the evidence to suggest it, are completely fabricated stories about him. I feel so bad for him, he didn't deserve the life he had, and never really got to be happy because he was always being judged and insulted by people who didn't know the complete truth or just loved to hate.
