Garth Brooks Sells Out Las Vegas Shows!

We're not surprised since he's one of the best-selling solo acts ever!

After Garth Brooks announced he was coming out of retirement and performing at the Wynn Las Vegas resort, tickets to the country singer's first 20 shows sold out in less than five hours!

Brooks signed a five-year deal with Steve Wynn to perform 15 weeks of shows a year with the first one on December 11. Tickets cost $125 and that doesn't include all those pesky convenience charges!

He better put on a good show if people are forking over that kind of cash in this economy!

"We're not surprised since he's one of the best-selling solo acts ever!" hah! just a week or 2 ago you gave an interview saying you didn't think he would go over very well in vegas saying he didn't have the kind of fans like cher and celine dion. in the interview you pretty much implied that his fans were nascar-lovin', beer drinkin', white trash. and while that may or may not have been an accurate assumption, it's ridiculous to act like you knew all along he would be successful in vegas.

I actually really wanted to see him when I'm in Vegas in december and I waited on the phone as well as in the virtual waiting room online for four hours only to discover the shows I was able to go to were already sold out. I have to say, though, that he is doing everything he can to keep scalpers OUT of the game. The rules with the tickets were the tightest I've ever seen. It meant that actual fans are going. And BTW the average show in vegas is around 200-400 dollars - more if you want up close - while his were 125 no matter where you sit. I'm disappointed.

Before he retired, he priced his shows to $10 - $20 for the very purpose of not wanting to rip his fans off, so $125 (compare to the $200 is spent on celine) isn't so bad now 10 years later, in las vegas. i wish i was going…

There is nothing more tacky (other than that Kate woman's ridiculous hair) than some star "coming out of" retirement. It so speaks to me that they need money! And then they come back fat, old, looking horrible, looking needy. STAY HOME AND LIVE WITHIN YOUR MEANS! Garth Brooks. You have got to be kidding!

To clarify - disappointed I can't go but really impressed with what Garth is trying to do.
And I'm not a honky tonk country girl BTW. He's an amazing songwriter and the night is going to be just him and an acoustic guitar. Should be an awesome show.

Garth retired from touring because he wanted to raise his kids. There is nothing wrong with him doing Vegas shows now that his kids are older and anyone who wants to cry around about it should really calm down. I'd LOVE to catch a Garth show. His concerts were always insane. He's a great performer.

      Re: camaguey

Hahaha! Garth doesn't need the money, he has so much money his grandkids won't be able to spend it all.

Garth Brooks is a fat, washed up, has-been!

    12. 12

I read about him in history class.

I do not think $125 is expensive at all! I waited 2 hours online to get tickets and I am so excited to go. Definately worth the trip from Saskatchewan,Canada! With service fee and other taxes it was $143, which is what the cost of seeing Kanye West/Lady Gaga would have been if the tour wasn't cancelled.

    14. 14

Anyone that is disappointed they didn't get tickets, don't worry. He is playing there for 5 years, and doing 15 weeks of shows a year. They are only releasing a few at a time.

Dab nabbit I'm on his fansite and didn't know the tix were on sale. No email nothing what the hell not cool.

Going out of retirement? It's more like going into retirement performing in Las Vegas. When artists start to count the years before they go into retirement they start performing routinely in Vegas.

    17. 17

That's Steve Wynn? What the hell happened to his head?

    18. 18

125.00 is damn cheap for Garth. When you compare Madonna and Britney are whoring themselves out for (and not even live I might add). Garth is an awesome performer and always goes all out for his fans. Wish I was going, he'll be amazing. "The Dance" still chokes me up everytime I hear it. I played it at my roomate's memorial. Such a beautiful song.

Notice you did not refer to him or his fans as "country bumpkins" in this post.

I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THAT SHOW!! HE WAS GREAT HERE IN MEMPHIS.

I enjoy Garth Brooks on the radio while I drive. It is free. I couldn't afford this concert. Who can??

Anya Blah, blah, blah The Undead Zombie Mother of Blog-Doom

Hope he gets his voice back in shape…last time I heard him sing I was shocked, didn't sound like the old Garth.
