Things Are Getting UGLIER For Betty!

The switch to Friday nights isn't working out for Betty Suarez!
The once ABC mega hit, Ugly Betty, is now TANKING in the ratings due to the their new night, falling down to 4.5 million viewers this past Friday, which is down double digits from the week before!
Meanwhile, its Friday night counterpart, Supernanny, drew in 12% MORE viewers in its premiere last Friday than the year before.
It might be time to hang up the poncho, Betty. Unless you get some kind of AMAZING, MAJOR storyline, and fast!

That's really sad, actually. I always liked Ugly Betty because it was so different from all the other crap on tv. But truthfully i keep forgetting it's ON on fridays. Would suck if it got cut because of the move.
When are they going to learn that shows targeted that age group 18-35 aren't at home on fridays. It is much akin to dollhouse of fox. CW never have shows that last on friday either because its the wrong age group for a friday night show.
im lovin this season so far..but its stupid that they moved it. there target group usualy isnt home friday nights. if they were smart they would move it to a different day.
That's too bad. I like Ugly Betty. It's funny and not like other programs that are on TV. Maybe they should try a time slot switch?
They should have cancelled the show instead of putting it on Friday to die. I loved "Betty" but I keeping forgetting it's on Friday.

They need to change the time slot. The show is too good to cancel.
I have no idea why they moved the show. Its still one of the best shows on TV these days. I really hate "Flash Forward".. So its just more salt on the wound.
One of the worst shows ever made. But I am never sure why they move successful shows to a different time slot. Never makes scene.
I've never been bored with Betty. Fabulous programme with great writing, visuals and NEW YORK! Put it back on Thursdays, however.

i am not surprised ugly betty is going down. the first two years were good, but really, how long is betty supposed to have braces? off with them already! i say this is the last season. hasta la vista betty!
No I want Betty to stay. They tried to pix up ratings by moving it to Friday night. Yeah right they put it there to die out. I love Betty, ever since the movie Gotta Kick It Up.
OMG!! SOooo annoyed about this new night! I almost missed it and I had to watch part of it online. Ugh!- I hope someone has the balls to change it back!

this makes me so so very very sad. this is such a great show, and i hate so much that abc has turned their back on it. ugly betty viewers aren't home on friday nights, supernanny viewers are. duh.
whatd they expect?? its on friday…whoever gave them that night must want the show to be canceled..which sucks i think america ferrera is a breath of fresh air and so cute.. i hope for her sake the show doesnt get canceled.
ABC obviously wants the show to die, or else they never would have switched it to Friday. Its younger/hipper demographic is not sitting around on Friday evenings watching TV.

I've watched the new season's first two shows, and I am disappointed. Betty may not have been pretty, but she was smart. But in the first two episodes, she does STUPID things. In the first one, she babysits Daniel while her work…a photo shoot at the United Nations, no less…implodes. In the second, she is so busy focusing on her ex that she drops an important interview for Mode. What the hell…? Where's Smart Better?
First, I did not know until 1/2 way through the eppy on Friday night that it was on - when it did not show up on Thursday I thought no biggy as the show would go on a mini exit then come back…but seriously hate Friday - it's a great show - and what I did catch on Friday - luved it - finally Betty is getting a new look. I really hope this show does survive.
The american series severely strayed from the original storyline of Betty La Fea…and that is the build up to the eventual romance between Betty and her boss (in this case Daniel). That is what caught the hearts of the viewers of Betty La Fea and La Fea Mas Bella! Yes, it is to see past Betty's physical beauty and to see the beauty of her soul, but it was also to witness her boss's realization of this as well and to fall in love with her. If they return to that, it just may be the ticket the series needs!
move to CW! They could use it!!!

I love the new night for Betty. There are too many shows on Thurs. that I watch, I'm so glad they moved it, and she's looking better than ever, I just wish they'd get rid of the braces, or at least let Betty know she doesn't have to have black bands, or dark blue whatever they are they look awful. Most people that have braces try and downplay them, God! Go Betty, she has lots of fans
I never watched it on Thursday when it was on then anyway, anyone heard of of DVR, or TIVO.

We turned out to watch Betty when Salma was involved on the series and even performed,,,,

I knew moving the show was going to kill it. It was slowly leavingviewers anyway. Too bad, it's a good show.

ABC has lost all confidence in this rather costly show (to produce). The ultimate bad sign is if it is pulled from any Friday November nights as this is sweeps and that would mean the show is poison to advertisers. Even still, after the new year I would expect a mid-season replacement.
Right now Betty has the lowest renew/cancel rating for ABC but Eastwick is expected to go first. Hank, the Forgotten, Castle are also likely to be cancelled. Lets just say that special Betty episode in the Bahamas (which was a bad sign to begin with) may never be shown or more likely will be plugged in to fill out the summer schedule.
