Ashton's Producing More TV Shows

We guess he's learned from his past mistakes.
Ashton Kutcher and his production company, Katalyst, has picked up author Augusten Burroughs, whose credits include bestsellers like Running With Scissors, Magical Thinking and Possible Side Effects, to develop two TV programs, including one based off his book Dry.
Sure, it may not be completely original, but at least it's not a remake or film-to-TV idea.
The project set up over at CBS will be a drama about firefighters. Yawn!
Like we haven't seen that one before!
But the comedy at Showtime seems promising. Dry is based on Burroughs' experience as an advertising exec while struggling with sobriety. So we can probably expect it to have lotsa booze, sex and drugs.
That always makes for good television.
And if they're looking for a cast we know a few people from The Beautiful Life need a job!

Augusten Burroughs is incredibly talented. Great move for both parties, I am sure. Can't wait to see his next piece of work.
I guess the only way anything Ashton produces will succeed is if he has zero creative involvement lol ..just sign those checks Ashton

I am a huge, huge, huge Augusten Burroughs fan! I would see anything with his name attached to it for as much as I feel that the Kutcher touch might turn it to shit.
Dry was a fabulous memoir but I fear Kutcher trashy Hollywood treatment of shows. Kutcher always comes off as an arrogant prick that has totally lost touch with reality whereas "Dry," is an ultimately human confessional.
I hope to hell that it works out for Burroughs' sake, he is just such a phenomenal voice!

Running With Scissors is a really good book, but the movie wasn't.
Dry was good too .. hopefully, the TV show will do it justice

Augusten Burroughs is wonderful and funny, I don't care if Ashton Kutcher has douche-like qualities… or if the show doesn't do the book justice, I will watch it anyway…..

haha i have such a crush on augusten too for some reason. there is just something about him. he's a very special person. extremely talented. as soon as i saw that picture i was like AUGUSTEN! if you haven't read any of his work, do it!
