Elizabeth Taylor Wants You To See This Is It
Filed under: Film Flickers > Michael Jackson > Elizabeth Taylor > Twitter
As we mentioned before, Elizabeth Taylor was one of the first to see her late friend Michael Jackson's final performances in This Is It.
The legendary actress took to her Twitter to let her followers know how impressed she was by the film.
Dame Elizabeth Tweeted:
I was honored with the great privilege of seeing "This Is It" last week. I was sworn to secrecy, but now I can let you know about it.
It is the single most brilliant piece of filmmaking I have ever seen. It cements forever Michael's genius in every aspect of creativity.
To say the man is a genius is an understatement. He cradles each note, coaxes the music to depths beyond reality.
I wept from pure joy at his God given gift. There will never, ever be the likes of him again.
And we have this piece of film to remind us forever and ever that once there was such a man. God kissed him.
God blessed him and squandered nothing, but loved it all. Michael knew how to put together every tone, every nuance to make magic.
To say he was a genius seems so little. I wish my vocabulary encompassed what I feel.
You owe it to yourselves and your loved ones to see this again and again. Memorize it and say to yourselves, "I saw genius in my lifetime"
I loved genius in my lifetime. God was so good to me. I will love Michael forever and so will you, if you don't already.
I hope I don't sound condescending. I'm sure you already know what I'm talking about, but go to see it again and again.
I meant to repeat myself. I love you. I remember Michael loved you. He was totally up to now and the message of today in all his songs.
If you listen to his lyrics they are those of a modern day prophet and it beseeches us to listen to him and what he sang.
I won't use words like preaching because that is off-putting, but listen. Listen to his messages.
From "Black And White", "Man In The Mirror". The inspiration behind "We Are The World". We must take his words of responsibility seriously.
We cannot let his life be in vain / and always done with love. Remember that. Remember him and thank God for him and his genius.
Kenny Ortega did a masterful job of directing the process that goes into making a complete show before hitting the stage.
From A to Z you get Michael's input on every level. Michael's genius at work with the dancers. Mr. Ortega catches Michael in his every mood
You see in front of your eyes Michael's genius blossoming on this piece of film thanks to Kenny Ortega and his crews.
I truly believe this film should be nominated in every category conceivable.
Wow! She sure loves to tweet!
We're glad Elizabeth was able to enjoy the film and we're sure many others will too.
Are U getting excited for This Is It???

sucks!!!
I am def. going to see it! I never had the chance to see him in concert, so this is the closest thing! You can't deny the talent.
just like Mario!!
and all Mario's friends!!!
I sure am. And I will be seeing it. RIP Michael. Great tweet Dame Elizabeth!
Even Stevie Wonder could see that coming from Liz Taylor….
I'm as excited about "This Is It" as I would be about a case of anal warts… Mario I'm sure knows how that feels.
I can save my money and just watch repeats of Dateline's To Catch a Predator.
how sweet of her
michael does the moonwalk in the film what more could u ask for! And michael wanted to marry Elizabeth Taylor. She was the only women he ever loved so sad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a Drama Queen.
She must have been tired after writing that exhausting pile of shit. For someone that was a leading lady when movies were new and Hollywood was still considered cool I am appaled she consideres this the best thing ever to be put on film.
I want to see the real shit of him falling over and shitting himself.
HELL YES i'm excited? i'm going tomorrow!
are u going perez?
NEWSFLASH*********** Elizabeth taylor died a while ago and this new lady is non other than MJ himself… it was a brilliant plan that Dame Taylor hatched on her deathbed… trust me, it's TRUE
God kissed him… and he kissed little boys. Not going see this, sorry.
Oh! Can't wait! I already bought my tickets.
Elizabeth was a true friend to MJ!
She said some beautiful things
Re: scottyk_9 – #9 i agree.when are they new episodes?
"It is the single most brilliant piece of filmmaking I have ever seen"
As good as it may be, this strikes me as a bit too over the top. Remember, Elizabeth has seen a LOT of movies.
Re: Douche Hunter – # 12 hi Jigsaw,Harry and ?!
I have had tickets since 12:01am the night they went onsale. Tonight at midnight I will see it and I am so excited. Beautiful words by the grand diva mrs Taylor. I am sure this movie will be a gift ffrom Michael to all of us. Love him and miss him!
Uh, seriously, screw this bitch. If she was such a "good friend" of his, she must have known how insanely addicted he was and just stood around at the sleep over party acting like he wasn't attatched to an IV full of sedative. She was an enabler who shouldn't have been shocked. Now she's trying to pull the sad best friend card.
I always said if I had the chance to see him in person I would, believing him to be the greatest entertainer ever. I didn't, but will definitely see this!!!
Re: scottyk_9 – Briliant!
ah!!!!!! it's going to be amazing! michael, we love you.. xoxo
she was friends with MJ so of course she's gonna gush about it. i don't fault her for that. i got my tix for Sunday. can't wait.
Taylor has been on a morphine drip for about 60 years now and really can't tell the difference between a movie and a changing stop light. Even though I mean that in a good way.
I got to see MJ in concert a few times. I knew he was a genuis…a level above everyone else. So sad that most of America treated him so cruelly. He didn't deserve it. MJ was worshipped around the world, but not even in his own country. Sad.
Yes, can't wait to see it.
Of course the movie is brilliant, Michael is the star,it couldn't be any other way.I can't wait to see the best singer-dancer-performer's last project. MJ is an universal treasure and his fans will forever love him and cherish his memory.
Re: JLOM17 – I totally agree with you, and I am from the States. I think that Madonna's opening words for this years VMA's were right on the money (I cried). I have always been a fan of him, even through out all the scandals that were brought upon him. He made amazing music. Plain and simple. Everything about him was completely out of this world, his voice, dance moves, his vision of what makes a great musician. He did things his own way and was in a league all his own. If you deny that he was the greatest artist of our time, you have zero taste in music and no understanding of the art of music. When I was a kid I had the "Michael Jackson: Moonwalker" video and would watch it over and over. I freaking loved that video. In one of the songs, it shows footage from his concerts and the fans are CRYING. I mean, they are so emotional with excitement and love for this man, you cant help but feel the same way. How many fans do you think cry at a Britney, Lil Wayne, Lady Gaga, or Beyonce'? Im not saying they are not great artists, but they cant even compare with Michael. I am so excited to see this movie, and I will definately be bringing the tissues =[ ♥

WE ALL LOVE MJ VERY MUCH
There will never, ever be the likes of him again.
LONG LIVE THE KING
MJ THE KING FOREVER
Yay, let's bow down to a child molester. Did you all forget about that? but now that he is dead, nobody cares that he played with little boys nutsacks. You sicken me!!
MJ IS A SWEET ANGEL
this does not sound like something et wrote, not unless she ripped her iv line for pain meds out of the machine and now is just drinking it. 'we are the world' was trashed as one of the stupidest songs out there. It only topped the charts because of who was on it and what it was for. Man in the mirror-didn't someone else write that?-she was on all these shows. black or white, some racial stuff and saying it does not matter it you are black or white over and over.
Re: Captain Howdy – You are the only idiot who seems to have forgotten he was acquitted in all manufactured charges..Go read a book, ignorant moron.Read "Conspiracy" or "Redemption". Get informed instead of showing off your dysfunctional brain in public.Sorry your daddy molested you,but you should have gone into therapy instead of projecting your anger onto the wrong person.People like you sicken me!
We are the World
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
so let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true, we'll make a better day
Just you and me
Well send them your heart,
so they know that someone cares.
And lives will be stronger and free.
As God has shown us, by turning stone to bread
and so we all must lend a helping hand
I can't find anywhere in the bible where it is indicated that god turned stone to bread and this 'make a brighter day' bit for starving children. the most pathetic thing about THAT song and this will age me, is that I remember that whole crap and crappy song. Almost everyone got into it. People donating what they would spend for lunch, etc. Over $700 million donated, food sent to africa……where it rotted on the docks because Ethiopia's dictator would not let it be distributed to the tribes that were straving because of the famine. Nothing Prophetic about that shit other then those in power over there will rot in hell and we, in the U.S. should have looked into delivery methods before sending the stuff over. sad
the real question is………………….. is Liz trying to raise money for the kids …….. or does she have stock in sony? I am voting for the latter.

GO TO HELL YOU'RE A STUPID ASS

MJ IS THE KING OF MUSIC AND TALENT
HE IS A SWEET ANGEL
Some of the comments on here are so sad. To the person saying if Liz was a good friend she could have saved him from his addiction - what This Is It clearly proves is that he wasn't an addict. No one addicted to painkillers and anesthetics would have been able to pull off intensive rehearsals and function on that level. The autopsy itself revealed him to be in health with no damage to any of his organs from anything other than what killed him. The rumors that he was an unfit addict are media fueled and not backed up by evidence, like just about everything else people loved to say about him. For the record, Michael's two 'accusers' had parents who BOTH had criminal histories for suing for false claims in their past, how do you explain that? If all you can do is look at Michael Jackson and see a predator, you have no vision whatsoever. Like him or not, he was one of the greatest talents of the century and was the biggest humanitarian in the history of pop music. If you are willing to judge someone solely on gossip and not on what has been proven and achieved, you clearly lack something. Which is why people will remember Michael Jackson in 50 years and not you.
Aw, she's so sweet.
They were really meant for each other: two reanimated corpses.
its gonna be so painful to see this movie.
I'm going to throw up. For real.
So sad a friend mourning the loss of her best friend. At one point I was wondering if AEG/Sony cut her a check. The family is sending mixed messages about the film, his very loyal fans on here (who I respect and enjoy debating with) seem conflicted about the film as do other fans, rumors about body doubles being used for Michael, and lastly the pure amount of commercials and press they have had to do for what was to have been a sure fire sell out, all leave me with doubts. I think an academy award nomination for best documentary and a golden globe nomination for best musical/comedy are in the future for this film.
Re: Brainbug –
fuck yoursef and your mum too
hahahahaha
you're a fresh piece of shit
He was amazing and I love her so much more because I believe she was his only TRUE friend!!!
Lies Run Sprints But The Truth Runs Marathons ~ Michael Jackson king of music
I bought my ticket back in September & am SUPER EXCITED !! I`m going THIS SUNDAY ! Screw Halloween.. THIS IS IT !
LongLiveTheKing.
Can't wait to see it! RIP Michael
HELLL YEAH IM SEEING IT TOMORROOOWWW!!!
Re: CuddlyCarla – wow. you completely said everything there is to say , your absolutely right in 50 years noone will rememeber those haters and noone will cry over their funeral and they wont have half as many people as MJ did talking about them. Mj was amazing no doubt his talent was exceptional and nothing less than perfect and neither was his heart and sould nobody will ever do the shit that man did he is truly one of a kind and the world lost a true star and a true MAN. a true humanitarian MJ cared so much for those who didn;t have anything and for the sick and for the world and noone will ever comapre to him or even come close to having the heart and soul he did , he worked his ass off for the world and gave us his all and in return society treated him like useless shit. all those who betrayed him and used him and treated him bad will have their karma. oh yes they will and i can't wait until the day i see them all burn in hell
That day i will be sitting at home eating junk and laughing my ass off
Like michael said the truth will prevail
Getting ready to the theatre and get my seats right now!! I know I will have a wide range of emotions but I can't wait to see Michael doing what he did best on that stage… It's all for L.O.V.E *wink* (to the MJ fans)
BTW all the MJ haters know that if they don't already have tickets for today's special screening, they more then likely purchased a ticket or 2 for one of the upcoming shows. Michael never lost his gift. People doubted him left and right when the "This is It" show announcement was made and this film will show all the doubters that Michael was still the best!
R.I.P Michael
a beautiful legend speaks about a legend. LOVE it.
excited? I SEEN IT ! fuckinngggg AMAZING PEREZ!!
I like his music, but am getting really tired of all this press on him. He might've been a great muscian, but he was still only just a man.
I admired Elizabeth Taylor but she must be on heavy medication these days.
Re: ouijabored – I've been thinking the same thing since 6/25/09. Nice to see I'm not alone. She had to have known, especially that she was an addict herself. Too bad MJ wasn't friends with Sean Penn, he could have saved him, like he saved Robert Downey. Nice to see her out with her god children though. Think MJ would have let her take them out like that if he was alive?
I'M GOING TOMORROW! ARGH I can't wait! I know it will be amazing just as all michael's work was i never got to see him in concert unfortuanatly so this is as close as it's ever going to get
love you michaEL
