Microsoft Pulls Out Of Family Guy Sponsorship!

Because they're a bunch of out-of-touch, old fogies who can't take a joke!
Microsoft yanked its sponsorship from Fox's Family Guy Presents: Seth and Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show due to content concerns!
Uh, what the eff did they expect?!
The variety special was announced earlier this month as part of a promotional partnership between several News Corp. properties and the launch Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system.
In order to make the sponsors happy, the Almost Live Comedy Show was to be commercial-free with Microsoft marketing messages pitched by Seth MacFarlane and Alex Borstein themselves.
And they got their politically incorrect revenge!
The actors made typical Family Guy jokes including riffs on deaf people, the Holocaust, feminine hygiene, incest and an eyebrow-raising segment as Latino housekeepers!
Aye yay yay!
"We initially chose to participate in the Seth and Alex variety show based on the audience composition and creative humor of Family Guy, but after reviewing an early version of the variety show, it became clear that the content was not a fit with the Windows brand," said a spokeswoman for Microsoft.
Maybe AARP or TV Land would be a better fit?!

If Microsoft doesn't have 90% of the operating system market, it's damn close. Sure, there's people who buy Macs and people who prefer Linux, but there's no way you can even remotely say that nobody is buying the Microsoft line of OS.

No one buys their operating system?? I think Microsoft presently controls about 90% of the market regarding OS's. Walk into almost any Fortune 500 company in America and you're going to see Windows, not Apple.

Puhhllleaze Perez, Microsoft contributes money to Apple/Mac so the government can't rule it as a monopoly, since Microsoft dominates the majority of the market. Give me a Linux or Windows machine anyday over over priced Mac.

Microsoft still has the majority share and they got their by making the right business decisions. The marketing money will still be spent somewhere else, Family Guy is a great show but it's not the end all be all.

Actually you can install another operating system after you buy the computer, even the Mac OS if you you are techy enough. When you name Dells keep in mind that it is just a brand name, they do not make their own mother boards ,memory chips or video cards etc..You are just paying for the name, you could actually say that Dell is leeching of Intel by your logic.

If I were Microsoft, I'd have pulled out in anticipation of the oversaturization of the market with McFarlane material. Eventually, he'll hit one show too many and then no one will care anymore.
